There has been a lot of rumors and stories going around these past months, and i wanted to get to the bottom of scientology. I conducted my own research on the net and argued both sides of the argument. I came to the conclusion that at least some factions of scientology are very suspect. I wanted to find out the publics thoughts on the spiky topic.

Crazy cult
-
there is a factual religion out there?
-
lol good point Kaz. More like GENUINE, fairly safe religion.
-
did you know that the FDA requires that all "E-Meters" are required to have a sticker that pretty much says "this machine does NOTHING"...
all they really do is test your conductivity... which leads me to wonder why nature hasn't done us all a favor a conjoured up a lightning storm around Tom Cruise.... -
I read up on these guys once and apparently you sit around for hours staring each other out ha ha bit like school when ya real bored. Definately seem a little crackers to me.

It is an experiment created by science-fiction author L. Ron Hubbard. He surmised that he could create a "religion" that would make a lot of money and be accepted by a lot of people. While more than a joke, it was based solely on the idea that he could do it. So, in my estimation, it is not even a valid cult. More just a way to generate income and brainwash people. You would not believe how much money it takes to advance through the many levels; I think one costs $25,000.00. No wonder you only hear about the rich who belong.

There is truth to everything, you just have to sift through the crap. Your continued research into other ideals may lead you to similarities within everything you explore. Comparing those similarities may give you a deeper understanding or the underlining truths.
-
What is true about Scientology?
-
Everything. And Nothing. Depends on how you wish to perceive it. Every religion is right, but they are all wrong. The truth has been buried beneath all of them.
-
I'm just gonna stop having conversations now, since apparently every and nothing is both true and false. Or maybe I'll just go on Jeopardy and complain that I was "wrong" on something...I can't be wrong! OR right.....
I never understood these notions. Not even the people preaching them could possibly believe them. -
The fact is that people create their own truths.
-
-
so are you saying that outside of what people believe there are no truths?
-
-
Absolutely not. There is ONLY one true path. You cannot study one religion and say, "THIS is THE religion." Most religions and beliefs have bits and pieces of the one truth, but again, its smothered under opinion and conditioning. We have adapted the truth many times over to conveniently fit the situations we are faced with. Christianity is one of the most popular religions practiced today, yet it's only 2000 years old. Civilization is 45,000 years old and still counting. Truth has not changed since the dawn of time; our own perception of the truth has; and we do it to fit our beliefs, instead of changing our beliefs to fit the truth. Just about every religion has some sort of common ground. The stories, myths and legends are all pretty much the same; we just change the names, places, and dates to suit us. Even the story of the Christ dates much further back then the biblical times we put to it.

all
religions which have amassed enough followers/believers/practicers that they are recognized as a group, can be considered a cult. some are way less plausable than others in their doctrine of beliefs, some are private, some make odd demands of their patrons.....
scientology falls under all of the above.
not a fan; have very little respect for it even, and that is saying a lot.
