Some people use God to make themselves feel more secure, this is true but was He created for that purpose? No He created us. I would point out that hope anyone has that simply saying they believe and merely attending Church is living on false hopes.

    Amen Apple

Jam 1:23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:
Jam 1:24 For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.
Jam 1:25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

Not that I can begin to process how there was just a God out of randomness but Ive heard theories that 'he/she' created us as a model for a perfect world. My opinion sometimes is that we are like a board game and we are like little toys to amuse like the Greek and Roman Gods and Godesses.

People originally created the abstract idea of the divine in order to explain things that couldn't be understood.

The creation is never greater that the Creator.

Mmm...I don't think that ever applies as a universal truth. It just happens to be so with God.

Do you believe that you could create something greater than yourself?

There are many examples. A tree can create a seed that will turn into another tree more taller than itself, quite possibly. That tree is now greater than the predecessor.

Can you, with your own two hands and mind, create anything greater than yourself?

Depends on what we define as greater. In size, yes, in specific ability, yes, in a capability to love and value society, probably not - except for creating a child. It all depends on what you are ascribing to the term greater. You used it as a universal value. It is not a universal value. There are many examples of creations' being greater than the creator. But I agree with Weydon, in the case of God the rule applies, and hence we have the allusion of the man and the clay pot as witnessed in the Bible.

    Not one, but many

gods were created by man. All serve the purpose of frightening children and helping support the illusion of "heaven".

All can't support the illusion of heaven, not all of them believe in it.
