    Ideally, both of those quotes are right. In the Latin proverb it's even more ideal that arms means soldiers, swords, bows, guns, vehicles. The fact that it became nuclear weapons is tragic.

    But many wars seem unneeded and muddled in motive. It is heart wrenchingly sad.

    I can agree to the first quote, but only partially to the second. I don't think war is necessary. But people make war because of pride, glory, land, power, religion, money and all that other stuff. And most of them do it for the wrong reasons, I believe.
