I believe we should fight the oncoming of violence in the world .the blood of so many are being spilled for nothing .I believe we should unite because of it . I don't believe that this war we have is justified . I think bush took our youth for granted and now it shows and he is trying to save face .I think he created the war to benifit him. While people's sons and daughters ,moms and dads, sister's and brother's their familes are dying .I feel this is not justified .those brave children going out to defend the county's honour .For a president who I feel Is not thinking in good terms for their well being.

Does anyone stil remember 9/11? Our generals tell us that if we stop fighting overseas then the fight will come to our country. Any leader of a country must be prepared to send trops to their deaths for the greater good. I'm sure that Bush takes that a whole lot more seriously than most world leaders.

That's a low argument Mud. Few things twist my knickers more than people trying to counter an argument that questions things, simply by saying "What, you don't remember the greatest tragedy in our nation's histroy? Are you THAT unfeeling? Are you unpatriotic!?!?!". It's rude and completely irrelevent to this situation.
"Our generals tell us that if we stop fighting overseas then the fight will come to our country."
Oh, is that what they tell us....
"Any leader of a country must be prepared to send trops to their deaths for the greater good. I'm sure that Bush takes that a whole lot more seriously than most world leaders."
The contradictions run rampant. ANY leader is prepared to send their troops to death (lol, send them TO DEATH. Not to tragically risk their lives, but to actual death) for the greater good. Just not enemies of us. They're doing it for the greater evil. And, although ANY leader is prepared to do this, NONE actually take this more seriously than Bush. Not only do you/could you have any evidence to the seriousness of Bush's mentality behind that sentiment, it contradicts the (silly) idea that all leaders are noble and ready to sacrifice others for the greater good.
The world is not black and white, and people who are upset over the certain things our nation are doing are not hearless traitors. It is trecherous to the foundations of our country to silence those who wish to merely QUESTION the government. -

greatest tragedy?

"Oh, is that what they tell us...." Watch the news, read the papers.
"The world is not black and white, and people who are upset over the certain things our nation are doing are not hearless traitors."
If this refers to our other politicians, then I say they are misguided and uninformed. It frustrates me to see our politicians working for the good of the party. And all the effort and money that is put into getting elected to get the other party out. Ultimately, they are not working for us. They are supposed to be our peers. Do you make $170,000 a year with almost unlimited expenses and perks? They work too hard at feathering their nests at the expense of our feathers. I'm glad I don't vote. And I'm not complaining. Just observing. Better days are coming and I can hardly wait. Where there is no vision, the people perish.

our own national security agencies are telling us that the war in iraq is doing nothing to decrease worldwide terrorism. our former national security agent (who went up to the legislators and said they'd received a memorandum entitled 'osama bin laden determined to attack within the US) has replaced Colin Powell, the cabinet member most experienced with the region. in terms of bush's alleged foresight, the french, russians, and chinese all have their own human rights abuses to prove just how seriously they take the need for order in the world. that they don't massacre and oppress and that they don't understand the needs of self-defence is a fabrication of the media.

mud.... let me break a few things down for you...
first... if you look up the video... there is actual footage of bush pretty much saying that "regaurdless of weapons of mass destruction, we're going to iraq"
second... WHAT IN THE HELL DOES IRAQ HAVE TO DO WITH 9/11!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
third... well, lets use a metaphor for the war...
imagine you walk outside one morning, and you notice someone taking a shit on your lawn (much as we a shitting all over their country)... do you try to get them off your lawn? (as they are trying to get us to do)... or do you wait for them to leave and then retaliate? i dont know about you... but if they stopped shitting on my lawn, appologized, and left.... i wouldn't then decide to blow them up...
and mud... i believe you are the misinformed one... generals in the military DON'T believe that the war is good, they are judt doing their job... why do you think the largest military donations went to a candidate that was OPPOSED to the war?
bush is nothing but an arrogant goat-****er that wants to finish his daddy's war...
9/11 was A: unrelated to iraq, and i cant exprexx how furious i am when people exuse one with the other... B: a horrible tragedy that i believe called for retaliation, but only twords those that planned, carried out, and knew about it before-hand, and NOT twords a nearby country that we already ended a fruitless and pointless war with... C: was quite possibly perpetrated by our own govm't... note: i dont neccesarily believe that, i just find there to be a few to many strange things about it for it to make sense that only the planes took it down...
mud... you need to educate yourself on the current situation in iraq... you are obviously misinformed, and i'm sure that if you really looked at the details then you would see what a load of propagated bullshit this war is... -
Our enemies do not respect caring and compassion, they respect strength. I wouldn't be suprised if the next president was our last. No matter who wins, we all lose.

Wasn't that the tagline to Alien VS Predator?

*The world is not black and white, and people who are upset over the certain things our nation are doing are not heartless traitors. It is treacherous to the foundations of our country to silence those who wish to merely QUESTION the government.*
So tell me how is your free speech being silenced?
A. fahrenheit 911
B. conspiracy theories all over the Internet
C. Dan Rather
D. stupid ill informed (that's being generous) coverage of the 2000 & 2004 election
E. Haliburton lies
F. Abeu Ghraib
G. War coverage from the inside of hotel rooms.
H. Gitmo Quran scandal
I. foreign wire taping being reported as if the gov. is listening domestically.
J. 8 years of outright lies about this president and his admin.
The left has stopped "questioning" the gov. and started inventing their own facts and proof.
what is treacherous to this country no matter who's the pres. are lies being told as if they were truth. -
I never said my free speech was being silenced, I said that in reply to mud that his accusation that those that question the governments actions are unconcerned about 911. I also said that over 2 years ago, when mentality like mud's was still quite common. I think the poor results of many government plans has made people loosen up and return to open discussions and criticisms again, which I will let speak for itself rather than list my opinions as facts.
-
I just noticed the date and I was talking about the left/ press in general. I still hear this comment alot. there's a diferance between protest and defaming a pres. during a time of war.

I cant remember a more poorly identified enemy, ever having war declared upon them, "terrorists" what the hell? who is that, is the bully in the school yard a terrorist? Are the guy who threatens his local high school principle for expelling his kid, or, is it just someone who disagrees with the current governments agenda? or how bout the guy who decides the corporate elite are a threat to the security of the people of his country, and declares himself a freedom fighter, where will it really end, and what are the purposes that such a term could be declared the recipient of a declaration of war...I don't have the answers, just the questions
