is it possible to be hurt so much that you can literally die of a broken heart


  • sad but true....

    I've wandered through many graveyards and have seen many older couples ( in their 60's 70's) die a couple months apart. Even my best friends grandparents died a couple months apart. I think once to spend your life with someone and one passes away existance is futile really. Because you lived for the other person and they did for you. Well thecnically thats how love works.

    you can most certainly die on the inside, but --i hate people-- is right the mind has a lot to do with it.

    I've read that in great emotional hurt and dispair your heart can develop cracks in it.

    not literally die of a broken heart. that would be stupid... pain can however make you kill yourself, or just indeed lose the will to live. think about placebo remedies they shouw how much the mind can effect health. i dont think a perfectly healthy, young person could just die from emotional pain though.

    you can. They actually have something called broken heart syndrome. You don't always die from it though. My aunts BFF commited sucide, and she had a minor heart attack due to broken heart syndrome. Even if there wasn't a syndrome though, I would still say yes

    When people fall in love to strongly, it causes them to stay so attached to them. Now, when that person decides to move from you or die, it could cause suicide, depression of not eating, aniety attacks, and it could also cause many other factors. It could also cause so much depression that you mind cant take anymore and you heart just gives up. Believe me, that happens. I bleive that there is love so strong that if one passes away, the other falls behind with them. There was an older lady at church who's husband did. She sat at his funeral. Then when she said "I cant live without him," she past away that very moment in that church. They were buried together. NOw this is true. I think most people heard it. Its sad but love is strong and it take people to a different world
