Does your life really flash before your eyes?

So we don't know what happens when we die... Does anyone speculate that your life "flashes before your eyes", and if so... is it really a flash? Or do you watch your whole life... And say you die when you're.. 75.. Will it take you 75 years to watch your life, and is that all we're doing now?

  • flashes of life experiences are memories, so they are equally pervasive prior to the moment of death and upon the moment of death

Your life never stops flashing before your eyes; memories, stored primarily in the hippocampus, I believe, would likely be considered these 'flashes'. I don't think anyone goes one day without recalling memories. Why would it stop at the moment when memories are likely to fade?
