Now, essentially I am asking if Life is equal. Is it just as wrong to kill someone of your own race as another? As an animal? As a tree? Why is killing so wrong? Why do people try so hard to prevent the death of humans and mass-produce the death of everything else?

Now, people laugh and say "Animals aren't sentient, they don't count." Animals are aware of self, they feel pain, they have dreams and love and ethics, even without complete sentience(which they may or may not have) they are still life. Plants can also establish the difference between self and others, they react negatively to damage, growing away from things that do them harm. That's more than one can say about babies. There are trees that have been there for me when people could not. I had a cat that I thought of in the same way I would my brother. You can't feel bad for everything that you kill, or that dies, but why put human life above all else? I'm not trying to say that we are evil just for living and killing little bacteria in our bodies, I'm just trying to point out that we should care less about "human life" and more about love. I can love a plant or animal just as much as a human, so instead of preserving the life of my own species, I should preserve the life of the beings I love.

Food Chain...Voted for by Drabarno Ruv.
I believe that we all consume what is neccessary. I wont kill a fly for that fact that it doesn't present an emmidiate danger and I refuse to eat it. I wont kill something unless it is unavoidable, suck as killing bacteria when i take my showers every morning. If you kill it, you eat it, it's all good then. The same applies for humans. I saw this CSI episode where this woman had a disease that made sunlight burn and the need for blood. Her own body had little us for food and wasn't getting the nutients she needed, so she had to kill other people and eat their organs and drink their blood. Like a vampire. In my eyes there is nothing wrong with this. If you eat what you kill, then all life is fair.

All life is equal. We are ALL but Life's longing for itself. We are vessels of Life; no more, no less : each of us. The energy in a plant will be in me once i consume it. Our responsibility to other life is respect and neccessity. Take what you need, appreciate the rest for its true existance as life itself. She breathes in everything, everyone and we all live of Her. In nature you can easily see each member taking due responsiblity. Ego is letting that responsiblity go.
