Pretty self-explanatory, I think. Some people are into competition, almost as a religion or sacred cow. Cooperation can also be a sacred cow. Both are good situationally…but when does one become better(?) than the other? Is it black and white? Are there shades of grey?

It is better to use cooperation when something has serious impact like diplomacy between nations.
It is better to use competition when something has no serious impact or consequences like sports and entertainment.

Competition has so many forms that I disagree with. Competition is war, the struggle between two political factions vying for greater control of resources at the expense of the common people they pretend to serve.
Competition is capitalism, creating a system of monopolized industry abetting political discourse and creating a class of poor who will live their entire lives serving their corporate masters while dreaming of a system in which progress is the goal, not money.
Competition is racism, sexism, prejudism, and everything else where one side has to pretend its better than the other.
Oh yeah, and competition is NASCAR, and NASCAR frickin’ blows. Read my poetry, its better than my philosophy crap.

Humans' natural instinct is to be co - operative, therefore it is better for us to live in this manner. Living the way we do now (competitively) is leading us to our destruction.

Cooperation is good at times, but without competition there is not much reason to do anything, but then without cooperation we can't do anything. Basically cooperation gets things done, but competition is incentive.

I believe that cooperation is better than competion because competition can generate hate, greed and jealousy, and what a state this world would be in if there were no cooperation, there would be three times as many wars and so much more hate in the world.

Human beings exist better when they do not relate with one another. If a human could reproduce without needing another human being, would it have a good reason to find another human being? I think the need to be social arose from the need to reproduce. If only humans had no survival instinct. I think things would be better if humans could be entirely independent. The need for other people and things weakens them.

competitionWithout competition there is no reason to live, but sometimes cooperation is needed to have a greater competition.Voted for by CrazyRebel.
