So why is it that God picked out homosexual men and didnt say anything (as far as I have read) about women lying with women?
I wish to clarify: is or is not the fornication between men or between women an abomination? And how do we define abomination?

The passage you're talking about is found in Leviticus 18:22, 20:13. This particular text was changed during the translation of the King James scribes. The original text stated that the act of a 'man lying with a man' is 'toevah'. Toevah does not mean 'abomination'. It does not even mean 'sin' or 'unlawful'. It means 'untraditional/against tradition' that is, it was against tradition for Jewish men to have homosexual sex.
Christians do not abide by the vast majority of the Levitical Laws, and Jesus himself takes a stand against them in Mark 7:1-23. He says the laws are 'traditions of men' not of God. Thus, God never said gay men were an abomintation--let alone gay women.

Never got around to reading the bible. But who is to say what is right and what is wrong. In America it doesn't matter we can love whatever gender we want. Basically times have changed a lot. Things are different now. I also laugh at people who are homophobic.

A man can not lie with a man the way that a man lies with a woman. IT IS NOT POSSIBLE! Men and women have sex in a way that men and men can not. Thusly the bible does not forbid homosexual behavior between men. It makes no mention of homosexuality between women and therefore does not forbid it either.

Alright, here we go. I'm not sure that Lesbians existed that much back in the day, so I'm not sure that it would appear in the Bible. However, the Bible does condemn homosexuality (men with men) so I believe the same verses could be used to condemn lesbians (women with women).

It's just how they said it. I think the "term man," back then, encompassed both sexes, the human in general. But I guess nowadays, as this post demonstrates, people think that they've forgotten to mention women. Nah I wouldn't think so. Well what else asides from the literal misunderstanding? Are you insinuating that you think perhaps being a lesbian is not a sin (according to the bible of course)?

i believe in god and i use to call myself catholic, however i don't think many catholics would like it if i called my beliefs catholic.I beleive that the only thing you can really do is interpret the bible for your self and fallow it as you see fit. there is suppose to be the holy spirit inside all of us. If the holy spirit is realy their i trust it far more then the bible.
Heres the facts as i see them. Devinely inspire or not, it was written by man, then passed down oraly for centuries then rewritten and distrubuted by hand, translated over and over.
as i see it the bible can only be taken with a grain of salt. it is also historical fact the meanings and interpretations keep changing. For instance the serpent in eden is never refured to as the devil it only began to be interpreted as the devil to help convert the norse from the traditions the same traditions that became all saints day then Halloween.
speeking of homosexuality Christmas was adopted from the Greco-roman winter celebration of the God Saturn, where men would give gift to each other and have sex with each other and boys.
the christain adaptation AKA christmass adapted more then gift giving if you get what i mean.
monks and nuns, especailly the monks often engadged in pederasty and homosexuality.
the vatican eventually started to crack down on this after the medievil ages, although people just stopped talking about it.
The bible is abused, by those given power, to mold it to fit their needs hence all the diffent branches of christainity. some branches came about ot escape the abuse of the gospel others made by those who abused the gospel.
that and it is impossible to trust any of the actual text to be origanial or acurate anymore.
although protestants, mormons, luthrens, ect. many homosexuals and pederasters broke from catholosism because of the vatican condemning it. but don't jump to conclusions about the christians being homos and pedophiles.
note i keep mentioning pederasty because girls WERE THEN less often (believe of not) victimise sexually because they were only valualbe as brides if they were virgins and people have known how to tell if the himen been broke or not for a long time. it was this very reason that homosexuality and pederasty have been so historically popular.
Homosexuality and pederasty WAS very popular with muslims and jews as well. actually if you know anything about sexual tourism. prostition of male sex slaves, men and boys, is a very large industry. muslims do not condon this behavor anymore though, officaily it never was, but it still presisted in the middle east. Buddists, Taoists homosexuality was big. Pegans too.
Antihomosexuality is a very recent thing that seems to have come from no where.
If you are a person of faith and you feel that your love is real you should have faith in that. if you feel that being with someone of your own gender is is not a sin then do it and pray that you are right. In the end no matter how pious you are we all just pray we're right.

do what you feel is write in your heart. as i see it the bigger sinner is probably the one who declares that your going to hell becuase they are the one saying "i'm so powerful that i know what god wants" god is the only one that decides right or wrong and in the end he can decide on who ever he wants no rules apply to him, and he doesn't need to tell us anything.Please register or login to comment!
