Mostly Humans25% Voted for by Stick Bug, Flash-T, sweetypie101.
I know you've probably heard this before, but I think humans did. He's just a being thought up by people who needed something to believe in.

God has always been16% Voted for by acresofhope, Sharcu.
Simple, yet effecient. I'm a Christian. I don't believe God was made up by humans or anything like that. God has always been and he will always be. Simple, quick, end of story.

Not to bag on religion but...Voted for by Muddy Wormwood.
If you really think about it, religion is a concept. Same with government and time. Humans are affraid of anarchy, and especially not knowing their own destinies. And anyone who dissagrees, i'm sorry to say, is lieing to themselves.
I am not a an athiest. I am, however, ignostic. Saying that god simply exists is not an answer. It's a dissmissal to the question itself. The reson why people believe in god is simply because they're raised to believe in him.
You prove to me that God exists, and I will fallow a supreme being to hell and back a billion and a half times, I would like god to exist. But what's so different from the stories in the bible, and the stories told by the Vikings, Egyptians, Romans, Greeks, Chinies, Japanies, Buhdists (I think that's how you spell it), Hindues, the Muslims, ect.

The Alpha and OmegaVoted for by Jace Kindu.
God is not a creation by man for something to believe in. God is the Beggining and the End, the Alpha and Omega. He has always and will always be around, even beyond the passing of this world.

Disbelief ....Voted for by Ava Noire.
I grew up in churches. Had the bible shoved down my throat for most of my life. My grandfather was a strict southern baptist preacher. He never could answer my questions though, and of course I am always the one person who has to ask the single question no one knows. Thats why I have such a hard time believing any one religion - there are too many unanswered questions.

Religion is nothing more than a pshychologically satisfying belief. The thought that somehow we have a point more than just existing or procreating. Makes us feel noble and worthy. You shouldn't have to live your life the way some invisible diety says you should. Live for what you want, and in a way you'll find your own little heaven.

Hasn't God always been there?Voted for by Stumbled Into God.
Not that i believe in god but isn't there a possiblity that God has always been there he has no begining or end because not all things have a beginning or end we don't even know how the universe was made maybe that has always been there who knows nobody will be around to prove it either way in the future whether or not it is or isn't.

yea yea yeaVoted for by youngsoldier852.
think about it... there has to be a god. if there wasn't...than how was everything created? the big bang hd to come from some place...it had to have a beginning...where did that small mass come from? the chain has to start some place. yes there is allot of man made gods. however the only one that has no flaws is the christian God. the only thing that might be questionable is the different versions of the bible...NIV NASV and so on... some are translated word for word...some are translated based on the idea behind a block of text...and yet others were written by people trying to break it down for their kids (those tend to have the most spelling mistakes) so back to the question... who made god? no one... he always has bin and always will be... no one can answer why or how because God has not blessed us with the understanding to do so. the christian God is the only one that makes sense as far as creation... science can confirm that. first there was water...than land and soon and so forth. 99.9% of the other religions have that flipped around. christianity is the only one hat can have scientific proof. also it has bin around the longest... proof of that has bin found. so who made God? no one. but we as humans made up the other gods for other religions... like a god of the sea a god of the air... those are what we created... but God has always bin.
oh and for those of you that are atheist and all... in a gun fight everyone beleaves in God. I've bin there ive seen it so dont deny it.

yep
You should put more force in your argument! That is the reason why man created their God. Man create god in their image due to the alienation is felt from the material conditions on planet earth. There life had no meaning, and therefore created a God where they can give meaning to themselves. However, this creates further alienation. Read Marx!ExpensiveThinker

Alienation
I thought Alien and Aliens were excellent. Aliens 3 wasn't too good but Aliens 4 was completely inconsistent.December 20, 2005
