Everyone knows first impressions are important. Even second, and third impressions. Each event one creates, will leave something for another to judge that person by. Everything we do, everything we say, will influence how others percieve each of us...this is why our actions are extremely important, and how we do anything in this world, shouldn't be taken lightly.
Sometimes, anything - and everything - we do, may be misunderstood. And that, is not a good thing. Each individual on this earth, should strive to make their fellow human beings understand them. It's amazing how few actully do. The point is, that misjudgement is not a good thing at all, and it happens to everyone.
How do you feel about misunderstandings, first impressions, and how each of us has a different perception of the world? Is it possible, for everyone to understand another, for there to be no misjudgement for at least one person? Also, have you [As I'm sure everyone has~] ever misunderstood someone?

I think that people care way to much about what others think. Who really cares. Let people make their judgments, but dont change yourself to try to please them!

I gues it's just me, but my first impressions are never important. I get an impression of a person when I first meet them, and then I get to know them and I faintly remember my originol impressions, but I remember them as different people. that's the best I can explain it anyway...

impressions and attitudesVoted for by Beena.
I think the quote, 'first impression counts a lot' arose because as someone said, 'before the person actually communicates with you, your first impression of that person is the right impression.' That is who that person is at heart. After communication we get persuaded into believing other things too. As for misunderstandings, I think we all like people who are like us because those that aren't may not be very good to us. That is why misunderstandings arise and not because the people are inherently good or bad, but because they may be good or bad for us specifically. That is why we usually like to associate with people who share our own views and likes and dislikes.

A world without misunderstandings or preconceived notions is impossible. Everyone is constantly being misinterpreted. Don't judge a book by its cover, they say. And it's true really. The cutest girl or boy could turn out to be the biggest asshole. Or the ugliest duckling could turn out to be the nicest person there is. And sometimes ugly people can be mean, and pretty people can be nice. Who can really know by the physiological apsects? Even with psychological aspects we can't really discern how a person truly is. It's too complicated. We were made to be misjudged, misunderstood and we were made to make our minds about someone within the first few instants in their company. It's how the brain works. We can't just spend weeks analysing someone. We have better things to do. And as for the last question, yes I've misjudged plenty of people in my life. I still am at the moment. I don't think it's completely wrong as it is alright. We can't get along with everyone now can we?
