If GOD says in the bible you should worship no other gods before me, and yet worship christ, I presume god when he said no other he didn’t mean that then, also why in genesis does he say about adam and eve after eating the apple does he say they have become like US, which US is he refering too.

Phases of waterVoted for by Simply Divine.
Believeing in Christ is not worshiping another God, they're one in the same. He was referring to Himself when He said us, he is one God, with three parts, The Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Its hard to understand, but look at it this way. Water has three forms, solid, liquid, and gas, and yet they're all water? You can't very well argue than and ice cube isn't water because it holds a different form can you? Its the same way. Three parts, One God.

Good AnswerVoted for by konshu.
Good answer well put, so your saying he is refering to the trinity when he says us, ok i can buy that. But why isn't the trinity established from the beginning. Why wait thousands of years to tell us, why didn't he tell Moses rather than just saying 'I am who I am'. Also this bit about idols, and not worshiping them isn't jesus on a cross an idol. Look I am not having a go at christianity, although have have posted comments that may appear to be anti-christian, its just there are lots of things in the bible that make no sense.

OK here's what i thinkVoted for by konshu.
The Ancient Sumerians also had a story about Adam, ok not exactly the same but very similar, I that story Adam was not the first man, but rather the first of a kind (hence the ability of his offspring to find wives as they were not the only people, ok already makes more sense than the bible). Now the sumerians obviously had many gods, but two are prominent in the story these are called Enki and Enlil, in their story Enlil doesn't like people and thinks they should be kept without knowlegde, Enki on the other hand thinks that people should be allowed to develope and so therefore persuades 'Adam and Eve' to eat the fruit. It is Enlil who arrives back in the garden and is fairly angry that humans have gain knowledge that he feels they should not be 'liberated'hence the reference to become lik US. And therefore banishes them. It is in no way bad that they eat the fruit and the point is knowledge in itself is a good thing. now the sumerian beliefs were taken on by the Babylonions, as i understand the hebrews spent quite a bit of time exiled in babylon before the old testament was compiled. you don't think the story coul;d have been adapted, maybe. I don't know for sure but what i do know, is that is you change the stories in Genesis to being a battle between two gods essentially at war enlil trying to keep man down cased with floods etc. and enki trying to save them and advance there knowledge ie warning them about the flood, yes the Noah story is there too. The stories in the bible start to make logical seens(as stories that is).
