I am a Christian and I believe in Jesus as the Son of God but I also believe that Mohammad was a Prophet of God. I believe that parts of the Quran have been changed over time (just like parts of the Bible have been changed over time) but the Quran can still be the Word of God because through the Holy Ghost poeple will know what is of God and what is of man. Anyways this is what I believe and i know that most poeple will not agree but id still like to hear what u have to say. The one thing I ask is that u respected me for admitting this and be nice with the comments u give.

Isa16% Voted for by Kazrith, ennoia, jamsa, cosmosis.
There is a prophet is Islam; Isa, I believe, who seems to be a mirror character in Islam as Jesus is to Christianity.
I believe these two religions (for both critical and spiritual reasons) are far more closely related and simular to each other than orthodoxes on each side will like to admit.
Essentially, however, they preach a very simular religious method and philosophy; when both are intepreted either liberally or strictly by extremists, so much so I believe the term 'holy war' is a non-concept - it's all about politics.

Islam is about The God (Allah in Arabic). Christianity is about Jesus the person, that the person, Jesus, is the Word of God, a messenger. One of the names of Allah in the Qu'ran is al Haq, which means The Truth. God is not a person in the sense that Jesus, Moses and Mohammed were as human prophets who received the message. Thus Mohammed was a messenger or teacher. A muslim is anyone who accepts that there is a God and that there is only one God and than no man could be God. Islam is the religion of Truth. That does not mean that it is simply a matter of fact, but that it is true beyond doubt. In the shahada, a muslim says: "There is no God except God, Mohammed is the messenger." That constitutes acceptance of Islam. All the other trappings of muslims over the years including the pillars of the faith, preaching of the Prophet, the Qu'ran, and all the accumulated traditions and rituals of followers of Mohammed are the religious history.
Moses is also a prophet in the sense that Jesus is a prophet. When Moses met God in the burning bush he asked what he should tell his people. God answered him, "You shall say to the Children of Israel, I am that I am." That is equal in the language of the Old Testament to the Shahada in Islam. It is the message of Islam received by Moses. Christians refer to Jesus as 'the word', which means the mortal representative of God, a prophet, that is.
The error of Christians, when they referred to Islam as Mohammedism, is that it is a religion of Mohammed as Christianity is a religion of Christ. Actually, there is only one religion, the true religion, which is the religion of Truth, which is Islam in Arabic. Christianity, Hinduism, Judaism, philosophy, science, or any belief in Truth, is also True Religion at the juncture where there is a declaration that Truth is supreme. Rituals, trivia, and belief in personal salvation or a paradise that appeals to the senses and emotions are the human components of religious history, not religion as such. There is no God except the true God, who is Allah, al Haq, Truth. Everything depends upon Truth, whatever Truth is; "I am that I am."

The prophets.8% Voted for by Simonic, frndofyaweh.
Muhammad when he was having his visions thought he was be tortured by devils/demons. Asked his wife what was going on, and she said it must be from God. So -- he let them flow and thus you have the birth of the Qur'an. Muhammad could not read or write -- so all he knew it was he had been taught, and everything was then dictated. And, the actual Qur'an wasn't produced until almost 500-600 years after Muhammed's death. In looking throughout the Old and New Tests -- what prophet or man of God thought he was being tortured by devils? Most fell to their faces before the shimmering glory of the visitor.
The earlier scriptures of the Qur'an are "nicer" in the sense that Muhammad thought that the Jews and Christians would accept his message to be from God -- but they rejected his teachings. And rightly should have. Mainly due to the fact that Allah and God are not the same, and it is the fallacy of our modern times to view them as such.
Due to his rejection, Muhammad went off from them, and became bitter at the Jews and Christians (people of the Book) saying they were misguided, etc. From this the later scriptures of the Qur'an were written. With a bent hate towards Christians/Jews. Even Muhammad own people wouldn't accept him, and he allowed them to let their diety's into the picture -- he saw this later as a flaw and then ran off to a people that would accept him.
Anyway -- my short time online is up, I'll finish this later.

Biblical Christianity8% Voted for by Sharcu, frndofyaweh.
Bad title, I know, but I wasn't sure what else to call it. If anyone has something better, I'll change it. lol
Alright, so basically, I don't believe Muhammad was a prophet of God. I believe there are some similarities between the God of Christianity/Jewish God and the Islamic God such as: Creation Story, similar attributes, etc. However, there are differences like the Christian God is an angry God, and he's perfect (thus Jesus) so he can't just forgive everyone like the Islamic God. If you know about Muhammad, you most likely realize that he spent a lot of time with Jews throughout his life. Thus, he could have stolen ideas and concepts from the Jews. There are contridictions between the Qu'ran and the Bible, thus I don't believe they both can co-exist and both be the word of God.

all has a grain of truth8% Voted for by CrazyRebel, IceColdHate.
I belive that all religions center around the truth. I think that Jeseus, Mohammad and every other Prophet were people who realized the truth and wrote it down or paced it on to others. I belive that there is a god, though not as we see him, he is a part of us all, not some super-natural, all-powerfull, high and mighty being.

The Qu'ran was never changed.8% Voted for by xVowsareSpoken, Devsouane.
The Qu'ran was never changed. It was memorized by people after Prophet Mohammad died, and written down by his closest of friends, after learning it word by word. People over the ages have also memorized it word for word to keep it from getting changed.
People, though, have TRIED to change it indeed, but those copies were collected and burned.

The case in SpainVoted for by kage069.
These days, historians kinda think the Reconquista of Spain was more of a civil war than a true religious war. Moorish and Christian nobles intermarried often. So, there your go, politics.

Windows, anyone?Voted for by bobrocks.
Here's my view of the five major world religions:
Judaism: Windows 95. Better than anything before, with focus, but not without bugs.
Christianity: Windows 98. Took the features of 95 and upgraded them, loosened them a little, and added a few more things.
Islam: Windows XP. Fixed the bugs of the last two and added even more cool features, while focusing and making it easier to hyperthread and such.
(just for fun are these next two)
Hinduism: Mac OS 9.0 Clever, but almost oudated. Still usable for basic things, though.
Buddhism: Linux Redhat 8.0 (or whatever they're on now) The ultimate in tweakness. You can do almost anything. The closest integration of man and machine (in metaphor; Nirvana/Nibbana in life).

I'm sorry, but you can't be a true Christian and believe that the Bible has been changed over time. (Excluding all the new and "better" translations that distort the truth and make it "easier to read")

cut the crapVoted for by Roo.
lets get all that is the same in Judea, christian, Muslim, put them together and call it God's message,, take all that is different and place it to one side a label it the shit of man. Now that would save a lot of reading and cut out most the crap.
Through all of these prophets one single message they speak, it just religion has put in so much crap, that simple message has become distorted.

Islam And QuranVoted for by Devsouane.
Islam is a religion that believes in all the sky religions that came before it christinaty and the Holy Bible and Jesus nd believes in Jewish's religion and Moses nd their Holy book ,but Islam says that there's some things that changed in the Bible and in the Jwish's Holy book and Islam came to fix those few things not to put a new religion that different than the others. chritians says that Jesus is a son of the God but if he is really a son of the God so why did he die between the hands of Isrealians !! I believe that the Christ is a prophet and he wasn't murdered but he has risen to God's heaven and he'll be back on earth when some things happen i mean in the end of the world and he'll be a leader of all the Muslims and broke all the crosses .

Thats The ThingVoted for by seefoo.
Not targeting this to anyone but look at those people who hate to see Islam prosper. You talk about how our prophet is crazy and the "fallacy" of god being different from allah. The truth is we accepted religions before us. Christianity believes that Jesus, a HUMAN is their god and allowed him to DIE and still belive in that. Jesus is the most quoted prophet in the quran and is one of the most respected prophets. Its even believed that he will come back to guide us. I have nothing against any other religions but stop with the hate guys. Get your facts straight Simonic... One thing guys, there are many paths to god, as long as you take one thats good enough.

Jesus IS the infinite God-man/SonVoted for by frndofyaweh.
Jesus was not just a profit, he was also a messiah, a deliverer of souls and a sacrificed child, by our most loving Father. He loved us pitiful humans so much, that He allowed His Son(Carried Gods Spirit In Him) to be the final ultimate sacrifice, for us. Isaiah described Jesus' coming and tells what He will be called and also gives many accurate details(prophecies) so you will recognize the true Messiah. Jesus fit the profile so well, that if many of you would just read your old testemant profits and then read the four gospels; many of you may see the magical contents in Gods Word. The most amazing thing about Gods Word, is how, so many have actually translated and re-translated and burned and buried It and yet,......It IS still very much accurate. Nothing has been lost and all that others have tried to add to it have not been successful.
