We often ask, what is real, or what is truth. Many realized that we perceive reality through our own eyes and make our own truth. Further than this I would like to discuss what is at the foundation of our existence. What makes us different from animals; are we different? What role does "intelligence" play, is that what self-awareness is, or is there more to it? Basically, what is your reasoning, and how would you prove to someone else that you (body and mind) exist. Can you? or is it simply a belief?

Self awareness lies not in the rocognition of ones own existence, but in the recognition of this recognition. It is to say I am not aware because I question my existence, but because I understand THAT I question my existence, and in doing so validate my core "self".

Wrong Again! Dont make me use my sceptic ways
not necessarily, for how do you know that you just did question your own existence? A malevolent force might have prompted you to, or you may have been implanted with a false memory of yourself questioning your awareness. You can get a computer to do the same thing and this doesnt mean it is aware of its existence. It is just programmed to say that to you. He is right; it is simply a belief, as is all things. Knowledge is inert.August 21, 2007

Here is one testimony by GeOrGia PeAcH from Yahoo Questions and Answers: a meditation on existence as a gay person
I think you really wrote or said a true statement about existence:
The awareness of who I am lies not in my or your rocognition of my own existence, but in anyone's recognition of my or your recognition. It is to say I am not aware because I question my existence, but because I understand THAT I question my existence, and in doing so validate my true being, my inner person, my soul and my mind.
I thought I would share this as a validation of self and protest against hatred of others. See what you think.
Christians: Do you think I would subject myself to what I get everyday if I was not born gay?
I mean really. Do you think I enjoy being told I am sinner? Do you think I enjoy being told I will burn in hell? Do you think I enjoy being called one of the many slanders I am called by yall? Do you think I don't cry about it? Do you not think how hard I had to fight to accept myself? Do you know how hard it is to accept you? Yet I do daily. Why would I put myself through the punishment yall give me and gay people if I chose it? What yall do hurts more than I could ever explain. So why would one ever choose that?
