A depressing state100% Voted for by gummybears2, Lady Akita.
I believe that many people will go into a depressing state sometime within their lifetime because some traumatic or depressing event will occur in their life making them feeling saddened or heart broken. Although remaining depressed for a long amount of time could stay a state of mind because you then would be enclosing yourself in self-pity.

"Depression" or melancholia
I understand that you wrote "some traumatic or depressing event will occur in their life making them feeling saddened or heart broken. Although remaining depressed for a long amount of time could stay a state of mind because you then would be enclosing yourself in self-pity." From this I hear two things: one) a traumatic or depressing event will occur in one's life, thus effecting saddness or "heart-break." two) not choosing to attempt to escape, or failing to escape somehow an lead to the enclosing of one's self in self pity. I will treat the first one now: it should be empirical knowledge that when confronted with a trauma or a very melancholic (depressing) event, one perceives a sadness or breaking of the heart withing one's self. Knowing the foibles of the human mind and spirit as we humans tend to do., one might not be surprised. We have yet to be flooded by "artificial intelligence," and even today the U.S. faces serious problems of overcrowding and housing, what with burgeoning populations and the vicississitutdes of weather. I would submit to you that the first is true, but that there can be other factors which certainly do come into play from early childhood onward. If we are able to "catch" these provblems earlier, we might perform invaluable service to our fellow womyn and man. (two) To discuss the second problem, that of "not choosing to attempt to escape, or failing to escape somehow an lead to the enclosing of one's self in self pity." I feel as if the originator of this thread was thinking of those who by conscious choice or by sins of omission? Surely, if one is free, and one has a functioning braine, can one not just turn around and walk away from the depression? Some theologians and philosophers have spoken of "The tempatations" of Christ. [At this point, I'll just declare this a work in progres, and set up my glasses on the bed stand table while I sneak under the covers.] http://cafegroundzero.blogspot.comPlease register or login to comment!
