Animal Rights

The abuse of animals in homes, labratories, which the worst is cosmetic companies.

  • Animals are defenseless

Ther should be laws protecting them from Manufacturers of foods, cosmetics, amd all other research facilities who do not need animals to test their products.

  • Painfull killing

i agree, it is wrong how some animals are butchered and killed- in an unpleasent way! these methods should be changed, at least so that the enimals aren’t in any pain!

  • Animals are God's creations also.

I am an animal lover, one who believes if you have a pet it should be cared. Neuter and spay you dogs and cats. There are way too many homeless pets of all kinds. I think breeders are sick puppies. Companies who use animals for experiments should be stopped. Abuse of any type should cease. Okay, I’m a litte over the top about my animals, but is we don’t care for them and help them who will.

  • I like the critters

Why use any living thing to test products on especially cosmetic. Are the living ranked lower than profit? How about for health reasons? The health of the world could be improved much quicker with pollution reduction then drug testing on animals. Even AIDS could be knocked out with good hygiene and caution.

  • Rights...............

........as being discussed here, are a human condition. That is to say there can be no rights without us giving them. In the natural world, (the processes that are affected the least by human intervention) animals have, nor need, rights. It is a simple matter of survive or don’t. Darwin said, and I believe correctly, every death is nature improving itself.

Let us all keep in mind that every dollar we spend on improving or protecting animal “rights”; every dollar spent on housing and proving for the critters; every dollar spent on the frivolous things we do for our pets, is a dollar no longer available to help save the life of a child who has disentry, or simply does not have enough to eat.

I often wonder how the zealots would react when confronted with the choice of saving a monkey from a labratory or a child about to die from starvation.

Do I believe we should allow the whole sale torture or slaughter of animals? No I do not. Should we ignore the senceless mistreatment of critters? No we should not, but do you not think we should try to take care of our own first and foremost?

  • Animals are stupid

Animals may or may not feel emotion like humans do, but to be honest, what are they going to do about it? I like my kebabs and i don’t care where the ingredients come from, how the animal was killed or anything. I think that animals should be treated the same as vegetables; they should be made to the highest quality to satisfy the customer, but have no rights whatsoever. I’d like to add that it disgusts me when animal rights activists put animal rights above human rights, for example, a group of protesters attacking a scientist and killing him.

  • Equals

As an athiest my view of life is sort of up in the air, but I do believe that ALL life deserves respect. Be it human, animal, plant, and insect, hell bacteria even deserves a little respect. None of these things not matter how unlike us deserve to be unjustly tortured, and if there is anyway of avoiding harming them that doesn’t bring harm to anyone else why not? Animals are most like us so I don’t get how people can be so uncaring. They are perfect equals, all living things are perfect equals. We may be currently highest on the food chain, but are still equals. Animal testing for cosmetics and soaps is just plain wrong. And medical, my solution is to stop disecting and warping innocent creatures, and maybe use those rapist and murdering humans who are already either living in jail for life or on death row. Science has progressed to a sate where we know if shoving this chemical in something is gonna kill it, all it really is now is seeing if you shove this chemical into something will it cure it’s desiease, make it grow faster, or do nothing. Though even if that is too much how about growing organs? We can do it now, grow a kidney in a lab, give it a disease, and work on it. There are ways around torturing innocent creatures, people just don’t want to deal with them. And as for domestic violence towards animals, killing a puppy should warrent the same punishment as killing a human child. Shooting a horse for no reason should get the same punishment as killing another human. These easy laws for abusing and slaughtering animals for NO REASON are WRONG. A life is a freaking life no matter what body it dwells in.

  • Animals are proven to be Intelligent

I’m a member of PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals)and it’s been proven that animals DO feel pain, and they have emotions, just like humans. They feel anger towards other animals, they feel sad, etc. The whole reason for activists is because the animals can’t do anything, they’re defenseless, so that’s where we come in. To stand up for them. If there are more humane options to testing products, then why torture the animals? Like with the IAMS food company, they torture the animals, when really, there IS another way to test their food.

  • Only Where it Removes Human Testing

There is absolutely no need to retest and retest shampoo formula in chimpanzees. But if it puts a stop to using human subjects for products I am all for it. Animal rights can only go so far, that is as far as they are not putting human rights and human society at risk.
