Gay rights? Since when am I asking for any special rights?

As a lesbian I am an American...........and I believe the US Constitution starts out with "We the people of the United States of America........." am I missing something, as a citizen of the United States of America am I not "We the People......."?

  • ALL AMERICANS NOT JUST SOME:

Equal rights and protection underneath the law is an un-deniable right for any American citizen............not just for the straight-white-republican-male. Not only am I a woman, but I am a woman of mixed races: European (white), Black, Latino, and Native American............but, then again when your family sailed over on the Mayflower...........that should be a given..............DUH!.................but, I am a mixed raced, Independent (who tried being a GOP-out and out-but, has since joined the Log Cabin partican GOP), who is also a Christian (NON-DEMONATIONAL, I hate organized religion and how they try to control us whether than encouraging a close personal relationship with our Lord and Saviour-thus, I also have adopted a Dudric/Wiccan philosphy to my Christian believes), and most importantly I am a lesbian...........and I am not asking for any more rights or protection than anyother free American is............so, excuse me...............shut you pie-hole............open your ears, eyes, and most importantly your heart..............you'll be amazed what you'll learn once you stop running your big trap!!

  • Human Rights across the board

I'm sure my opinion is as backwards as can be but quite honestly I do not believe in gay rights, or women rights, or "etc" - rights. I believe that is alot of our problems from the start. Everyone wished to identify themselves as being different from everyone else(whish is okay to a certain degree) but then that group wishes to claim their own set of rights whatever they may be.

    ------------------------

Personally, I believe rights should be the same for everyone. You might say I believe in a standard across the board. Is it realistic? Probably not, but I still think it would be better in the long run.

  • i agree with what you are saying

I am straight, but i agree that gay people should have the same rights as everyone else under the constitution. but there are some gays who feel that they should have MORE rights than the status quo. some gays feel entitled to "minority status", giving them access to "affirmative action", which is nothing more than liberal favoritism. Well, if they ever do get it, i'm going to register myself as a card-carrying homosexual (even though i would never have sex with another man), that way I can reap the benefits that my tax dollars pay for for a change, instead of watching it all go to other people.

I'm sick of white male heterosexuals like me having to work their asses off so that the "minorities" (who actually outnumber us), can get a free college education and preferentail treatment, both in the workplace and the welfare office, while we get blamed for all the problems this country has. I'll bet if White males folded up shop and went somewhere else, the so called "minorites" would take notice, especially when their welfare checks came due and there was no tax money to pay them.

  • hmm

to quote anti-flag "Just because you make it illegale, won't make it go away". Our rights are being broken every day. just because some political figure writes some "rights" onto a peice of paper doesn't mean that anyone will follow it. Cops kill people everyday for no particular reason other then to make them feel big. i am gay but i dont think that people will treat us any better because some person who pretends to care tells them to act nice.
