why do so many people label homosexuality and gay relationships as lust based and not love. can anyone who says it is lust based prove it? i don't think they can. they only have their own opinions on it and no facts. so my question is, why are so many people ready to label gay love as something not pure?

For those who are religious and feel that homosexuality offers only lust-based relationships, it is largely because of the two dimensional mind-set of the church. The church has dedicated its purpose to many things, although most of its preaching falls into the line of sex.
Mainly, sex--by church standards--is for a married man and woman to prcreate. Only then, not unmarried, not for fun, not with birth control, is it ok. Because of the thought that sex is for procreation only and anything else is sinful, the church obiously would shun gay sex. Gay sex cannot produce children of course, and so this is called an act of lust.
The lust usually is based on procreation. Some people think that the sole reason people of the same sex sleep together is so there is no 'ties' like children, marrige, or commitment. This of course leads one to believe that all gays are lustful and have sex solely for self pleasure. Its untrue of course, but there are people like that in every sexual orientation. In short, our society is taught that sex is for making babies and anything else is irresponsible and lustful. Gays cann't make chidlren, and so they are automatically lustful creatures.

i think they dont have aproplem with the love side of it as men do love men eg father sons brothers friends the problem is the physical act of man lying with man ican see why people view it to be lust based as we are led to believe men are more sexual because of biological reasons i think ones sexuality is based on choice because we were given freedom of choice another thought is if we could sleep with the same sex would we not be physicaly made to be able to do so these are just thoughts as iam a women i would not no what aman would feel for another man

Love is more than one emotionVoted for by frndofyaweh.
*Agape* (ἀγάπη agápē) means love in modern day Greek. The term s'agapo means I love you in Greek. The word agapo is the verb I love. In Ancient Greek it generally refers to a "pure", ideal type of love rather than the physical attraction suggested by eros. For example, in the New Testament this is the verb used to describe God's love for humanity. However, there are also some examples of agape used to mean the same as eros. It has also been translated as "love of the soul". _____
*Eros* (ἔρως érōs) is passionate love, with sensual desire and longing. The Modern Greek word erotas means (romantic) love. Plato refined his own definition. Although eros is initially felt for a person, with contemplation it becomes an appreciation of the beauty within that person, or even becomes appreciation of beauty itself. Eros helps the soul recall knowledge of beauty, and contributes to an understanding of spiritual truth. Lovers and philosophers are all inspired to seek truth by eros. Some translations list it as "love of the body". _____
*Philia* (φιλία philía), means friendship in modern Greek, a dispassionate virtuous love, was a concept developed by Aristotle. It includes loyalty to friends, family, and community, and requires virtue, equality and familiarity. _____
*Storge* (στοργή storgē) means affection in modern Greek; it is natural affection, like that felt by parents for offspring. _____
*Xenia* (ξενία xenía), means hospitality in modern Greek and was an extremely important practice in ancient Greece. It was an almost ritualized friendship formed between a host and their guest, who could previously be strangers. The host fed and provided quarters for the guest, who was only expected to repay with gratitude. The importance of this can be seen throughout Greek mythology, in particular Homer's Iliad and Odyssey. Retrieved from "http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greek_words_for_love"
