There's a 'God-shaped-hole' at the centre of our universe"

Thus spoke Robert Winston.

But what shape is it, exactly? And, more to the point, what's filling it right now??

Are we any closer to "understanding the mind of God" through scientific exploration? With the progression of contemporary science, with its many weird and wonderful theories, will we ever be able to totally describe God, and what was there at the beginning of the universe? Is what's missing in many of today's partial and incomplete scientific suggestions the elusive 'God Factor'?

What is this God Stuff?

  • the god hole is spherical, black and void

God stuff is star stuff, is form and intelligent design, is the sugar inside Milky Way. By hypothesis, 1. a creative god would be the Creative Principle so beautifully manifested in the earth's ecology. 2. an omni-god would be that which is everywhere at once, all-seeing, all-knowing, encompassing.

*But*, such a god, an Absolute, would be _by definition_ beyond our comprehension. This is a strong argument for principled agnosticism to inform the coming age.

thanks for giving me the opportunity to speak.

  • Nope
We must simply accept that we are humans, we are not Divine and God-like. There's no way we're going to 'understand the mind of God.'

  • caused by the silver bullet of conjecture.

if there is a hole in the centre of our universe it is because we put it there... it is a nice image though... i would certainly say that the symbol is best defined thus... if you put ego at the centre of your world than you are, in effect, centering yourself... or sublimating the void somewhat.

  • Complicated one. . .
What's missing is that nobody is out to find God at all. Generally people use science to try to "disprove" the existence of God. For example, we are taught in school about how old the Earth is, or the possible origin of the universe, when, in fact, there is very little evidence to make these conclusions(I cannot stress enough how flawed and inaccurate carbon-dating is, among other things); but of course a theory will hold and become mainstream(no matter how flawed) if it helps "disprove" God. As a result, any theories contrary to the popular belief are little noted or just completely ignored. You should check out www.thunderbolts.info; a scientific website, loads and loads of info you will not read anywhere else, I just read about the "big bang" theory, that has no scientific backing whatsoever, apparently. In a world of disinformation and special interests; it helps one greatly to do independent research.
