Churchill very successfully steered the ship of the nation from deep waters to safe shores. He tactfully save his nation from great disaster, yet he lost the elections soon after the World war-II..Why did his nation reject him at the time when he was one of the most popular leaders of the world??

The World War-II is the root-cause of the massacre of millions of people. And all the rulers of the world were responsible for the ruin of the innocent lives. So, many of them lost either lives or status after the great War.

War as an example for Churchill.40% Voted for by Robbwindow, Mujtaba H Zaidi.
Churchill " We'll fight them on the beaches, fight then on land and sea..." and the rest was history, Churchill knew of hope; was aware of the countries conflicts, sacrafices already inflicted be it death of a soldier or pain of a fiance's promise broken, during war some statements as powerful as this one at a time violence is bound to trample the toes of the voting people. Patriotic as it maybe, war is an unsociable defect that has no room in todays peaceful premise.

Great wartime leaderVoted for by petethemeat.
Churchill was recently voted greatest Briton which is an indication of how much respect the British people feel for their wartime leader.
However his political career was forged in war. He was inspirational and the strong leader that Britain needed during this time of need.
A brilliant wartime leader he may have been, but during peace his inspirational qualities were not needed and his effectiveness for governing in peacetime was far less.
The Brits continued to respect their ex- primeminister but when the need came for a more diplomatic, mellow and effective peacetime leader they looked elsewhere.
