Democrat vs Republican

What is up w/ polics anyway? I think of Democrats as being “For the people”...and Repulicans as “For the rich”. Democrat being more laid-back….and Republican being conservative. What’s your views? And why do you claim to be with whichever ‘party’?

  • Republican

I am definetly a republican. They believe more of the right things. They arefor and against what I am for the most part. I don’t think Rupublicans are for the rich. I don’t know who came up with that! Democrats are more for do whatever you want, nothing matters. It shouldn’t be a crime, it’s just murdering innocent babies. Do what you want, when you want. My opinion. I don’t judge people who believe that stuff, but neither do I condone it.

  • Neither

The Republicans support the system over the people. The Democrats support the people over the system.

If I must choose I choose the left if for no other reason because they use greater detail in their argument.

Also the Right appears to be further from conventional wisdom and common knowledge. Quite honestly how can you clam Weapons of Mass Destruction and also clam to be functioning in the known reality.

Yes Libertarian is a better option than both. Despite originating from the philosophy’s of Ayn Rand :-)

  • Converted Republican

I used to be a democrat for most of my life, but I realized that democrats want control over people, their goal is to keep the poor POOR, by being trapped in a system that does not help them. They are for abortion, another means of not making the people responsible for their actions, have unprotected sex which makes a baby okay here is your solution go and and kill it with the blessings of the democrats. If you choose to keep it and you are a teenager unwed and uneducated then that’s better because then you get thrown into their system of they will give you a check only if you can not help yourself. They need to support educating these individuals and allowing them to work even at min wage and still help them out. The ones they should not help are those who want to sit on their buts and receive checks for doing nothing. This is what our democrats have made of our under priviledge people. Give them the diginty and integrity back. Help those who are willing to help themseves. That is what the republicans still for.

  • You're pretty far off

There are a wide range of democrats and republicans. Not all republicans agree on everything nor all democrats.

  • Parties and Ideologies

People have to remember that there is a difference between a party and an ideology. If I say I am a Republican or a Democrat it means just about the same as saying “I’m a boyscout.” It says nothing about your beliefs. At one time there were ideological democrats and republicans in the Democratic Party and Republican Party, but that has all changed. Right now what happens is a coalition of partners.

Something to remember about the Republicans, there are different types of Republicans. That are some that lobby for big business. There are those that act to legislate. There are those that came from the war. Then there are those that inherit their position (Kennedy’s). Of all thes Republicans very few have the same view.

I basically agree with most of the democrat ideals. But, I have many opinions that are very different. Therefore, I am something of a democrat.

  • I would consider myself

a constitutional traditionalist. Unfortunately, the Republicans seem to have the most of my requirements of governance in their corner. Unfortunately, because they don’t follow through half as much as they should, or with half their heart in it. They have rubber backbones in most cases, even when they control the Oval Office and both houses of Congress.

  • Liberal... No Party Affiliation

I am definitely a liberal, but I don't necessarily identify with democrats on everything either. I like the original ideas the republicans had on small government, but now they want to get involved in what I do in my bedroom, or to my own body, and that's not right. I guess I'm more of a libertarian.

  • True Republican

To truely be a man (or woman, I just use man as an over all) you must have certain morals. In buissness and life. In over all buissness, one must realize that Republican veiws are the veiws of: Strong Buissness, good pay, strong workforce, made-in-America (Let us not forget the evil of Cliton started NAFTA, selling us all to China). In politics, the true Republican has the veiws: A strong central government to keep the state governments from breaking apart, deflation, stocks, a strong unfailable economy, fairness to all, no descrimination, and good schooling. Moral values are important too. Ever see a Republican have Monica give him a.... well you know that story. In whole, the real Republican party has great veiws that can't be put down unless you hate what America stands for. The curremnt Bush people arn't acting like real Republicans, but aren't that bad. People blame every thing on the President, good or bad. Nevertheless, I would never become a Democrat and stoop as low as loving others pain, suffering, and hard worrk, just so I can have a week off of work.

  • democrat

I am all for the democratic party. From a know nothing about partys standpoint, the truth is that when ever a republican is the president unemployment rates skyrocket, and the cost of everything goes up, and rich people get tax breaks. Rich people get enough breaks, give them to the people that need them. Republican ideals of small government and staying out of peoples lives are great, but now everyone, even all you republican rednecks with guns are scared of terrorists and the government is in everybodys business to protect freedoms. So they have to take freedoms to keep existing ones? And just because republicans say they have morals doesnt mean they do, bush is a coke head, so so what if clinton got his with monica, he did a good job. A government that doesnt interfear with peoples lives shouldnt worry about personal and religious morals anyways. dont get me wrong, on paper both partys have good ideas but all political figures just tell you what you want to hear to get them in office. Every now and again you get an inteligent individual in office on both sides, i think we should look more into the person than the party their running for.
