It seems like most people on here are religious...

Not that everyone on allphilosphy is religious, but it seems that the most of people here are debating everything with their religios beliefs, or lack thereof. Is it possible for people to give opininions without doing it from a religious perspective, to just use their own morals without having their god (or lack thereof) have to do with everything? Just a question.

  • Its their world

To people who are religious it is a part of who they are. They learn from the bible or Koran or whatever how to be a better person so when faced with difficult questions they look to what has always been there and seems right and good.

  • Yes, but they need to be helped

The fact that religious people are on this board means that they are questioning their beliefs and trying to criticially analyze them. Of course, this is the gateway to becoming atheist. We need some more voices of reason to help guide these religious people during their transition.

  • As Always

this board is a public board and always open for dicussions whether religious or any other category, but how members respond to your post may vary from member to member. Some respond with religious overtones and some do not.

  • No.

It is not possible for someone to give opinions without doing it their own religious perspective. Even people who do not respond using a religious overtone have been exposed to religion (99.9% of them)(can't make general statements on this site; that stuff gets you killed) and have come up with their views of it. Because we all have different beliefs and we all think they're right. Personally I enjoy smashing my beliefs up against the rocks to see what's leftover. What's left is purer, better. And, ads, most of those pure better things are my religious beliefs. The reason I'm here is not to question my beliefs, but to compare and constrast them to yours. May the better belief win.
