Many people choose to procasinate and I am curious why people put off doing what they should be doing to make their dreams come true. Why do people choose to wait around for their dreams to come true?

Afraid of change and the unknown28% Voted for by Ygg, Tweedle Dee.
Apart from laziness, I think most people are afraid to change, especially when those dreams can be potentially life-altering experiences. Change implies you are self-confident enough to take a leap into the dark, a leap of faith. Fear of the unknown is the biggest fear lingering in the subconsciousness which keeps people away from life-altering experiences, even if they somewhere realize they could eventually enrich their lives completely afterwards. But it's the first step which is the most important one. I think most people lack enough faith to believe in their own abilities, beit physical or mental, to take that first step. Which is too bad really, because imo the benefits of such steps could be an enrichment not only to the one who takes the step, but also to his/her environment.

Too Worried28% Voted for by angeltrappedinhell, birdlover06.
My dreams always come true. Well my nightmares anyway. Everytime I think I've found something that makes me happy i dream about something going wrong and losing my happyness. They always come true after a week or more. Sometimes I'm afraid to even sleep.

Dreams Can be Forbidden ActsVoted for by Spheres of Wisdom.
Certain acts in my dreams cannot be relived in reality. If I am having intercourse with my Best Friend's sister I know there is no way I am going to do that in real life. Its just wrong. I mean if you had sex with your English Teacher would you go up to her the next day and say,"I had a dream about you so lets fuck after class?"

ProcrastinationVoted for by gummybears2.
I think many people choose to procrasinate because they are lazy and don't care about their future. There is also the possibility maybe they just haven't found their perfect thing that they are amazing at and don't know how to go about finding their nitch.

For LifeVoted for by Tweedle Dee.
Because people are afraid of free will. Because if you believe every chain of events is coincedential your life will never be filled with depression, because you believe it to be true and that your life is in your hands... But... if you believe in the oposite. IF you belive in Destiny, then free will is just a word. There is a fact that no matter what you do life you are doing what you have done, what you will see, and what you will do. It is a matter that NOTHING is by chance, everything is made of a chain. And that chain, you can't break loose. Right now, I'm writing this not on free will but because I was meant to. I can stop. I don't have to press enter, but I will. It just depends on the perspective. Do you belive in Free will? Free choice in paths? Or fate? And that is why people fear the unknown. They have no idea, they fear only fear itself and that is everything, for fear is a matter made by humans, humans made matter out of fear. If by chance you dream a dream of the future, how do you stop it from occuring if you have no idea the chain of events it took to get there? That in fact the events you do to try to stop it, are the exact facts that make it happen. So what do you do? Nothing, fear has been made out of matter. Chain of Records is life, but life is what choses its records. Just live one day at a time, or depression/stress/headaches may occur, for unless you are clairvoyant or a seer, you can do nothing about it but live life the best you can. That is why we hope dreams come true, and we try to make them come true, but it is not always so. If something was meant to be, it will. In that you can trust.
