do you ever realize that almost every single person who is anti-gay is ignorant on one or more of the aspecs of gay people? let me clarify, while on this site i have come across many different anti gay opinions that make no sense whatsoever, here are a few:
1)"being gay is caused by financial reasons and men turn gay by selling their body for cash." wtf is that? most gay people are not prostitutes and there are many gay people who are still virgins.
2)"hanging around gay people will make you gay"-sure....just in the same way hanging around straight people makes you straight. i mean really do you see the retardation of that statement?
3)"gays spread AIDS"-wow, that is retarded, the truth is the most people who get AIDS are straight and the least likely people to get AIDS are lesbians.
4)"gay love is based on lust"-can anyone actually prove that statement. if you think about it, if gay love was based on lust, gays wouldn't want to be able to marry and be in long-term relationships but that is what they want. also, there are old gay couples and i personally find most (but not all) old people to be ugly so if their love was based on lust they would have broken up due to their ugliness.
5)and my favorite retarded anti-gay statement is "being gay is a choice"-if one actually thinks about this for a minute you would actually realize gays don't choose to be gay. why would they with all the anti gay hatred/bullying/abuse from our society? and did you as a heterosexual choose your sexuality? if you didn't why do u think a gay person did?
there are more then the ones i listed here but you get my point. so do you think that if anti gay people were educated they wouldn't be antigay? how do these people get so uneducated? how long do you think until this ignorance is gone? what do you think?

then finally when most anti gay people run out of these "logical" arguments and run out of biblical arguments they start to get immature and say things like "gay sex is icky", "gay people gross me out" and "eewwwww a gay person". just because you anti-gay people find gay sex to be disgusting doesn't mean it is. i personally find old people sex disgusting or just the thought of my parents doing it makes me want to puke but that doesn't make that wrong. just because you think its gross doesn't make it wrong since your opinion is just one of the billions that are on this planet.

"do you ever realize that almost every single person who is anti-gay is ignorant on one or more of the aspects of gay people?"
Now here is an opened minded comment (not). Brilliant in the way that it dismisses all anti-gay opinions, because they are based on ignorance. Yes, opened minded indeed. Personally, I believe everyone is the same and their choices are their own. And when I say everyone, anti-gay people are included. Although I don’t agree with them, to catalogue them all as ignorant in one way or another is ridiculous.
Now as for the reasons presented:
1)"being gay is caused by financial reasons and men turn gay by selling their body for cash."
2)"hanging around gay people will make you gay"
3)"gays spread AIDS"
4)"gay love is based on lust"
5)"being gay is a choice"
Again I am amazed at the great choice of reasons presented! You could have tried to make anti-gay people seem even more ignorant using reasons like: “Gay people are only gay because they like Cher” “Gay people would become straight if they stopped being so clean”.
Instead of trying to attack a group of people with a different opinion, how about demonstrating the worthiness of your opinion. You are pro-gay? Why?
“…do you think that if anti gay people were educated they wouldn't be antigay? how do these people get so uneducated? how long do you think until this ignorance is gone? what do you think?”
And your finishing touch. Lovely, let’s educate people to agree with us. What could be more opened minded that this?

i have also noticed the lack of logic/fact behind many homophobic arguments. i think that people who are "against" gay people only have that opinion because they don't understand them, and people are afraid of what they don't understand. personally, what I feel like saying to these people is this: why the hell is it any of your business who they're sleeping with?!? I mean, honestly... what the hell does it change in your life if your neighbor, for example, is attracted to/has relationships with people of the same sex? nothing. exactly. being straight, I don't have to face the discrimination that my gay friends face every day, but I do see the crap they have to put up with, and it's ridiculous. people are just too narrow minded for their own good. and too nosy. they need to just mind their own business, then everything would be fine...

I just love this post in general! I would add something of my own opinion, but I think it's been covered in full! Hooray for open minded people who think like I do!!!

If you think about it...11% Voted for by Crystalic, Energizer Bunny.
Gay people are sometimes just as ignorant when trying to protect their beliefs. Some people have more...well thought out reasons to be anti-gay. Personally, I think people should be given the right to choose who they want to love and who they want to marry. It doesn't make the world a worse place. Who is to define our destined sexuality anyways? I don't believe in God or the Bible, and I tend to believe the bible is wrong for being against Homosexuality, but who am I to judge?
To conclude, I think it all depends on the person. Not all anti-gay people are ignorant, not all pro-homosexuality people are ignorant, even though it may seem so at times. You cannot judge a general group. Many anti-gay people are very well educated as well, but sometimes peer pressure and the yearn for acceptence gets in the way, and public opinion changes their beliefs. It is kind of like the Bandwagon, everybody's doing it. Ignorance will never "cease to exist," but as time passes, many people will learn to accept and move on.

The one I absolutely hate is "why do they have to flaunt it to the world, like really, its not like we flaunt it!" alright there is the odd gay parade, wow, african amaricans have parades for rights, women had parades, seriously, not flaunting! but really, how often do you see a man and a woman walking down the street hand in hand, or kiss on the corner? bet you see that all the time. now, how many homosexuals do you see doing the same thing!

I just have to play devil's advocate here. I do not disagree that most people who make those assumptions that you state are ignorant, but I do agree with your base assumption that all anti-gay people are ignorant. I'm sorry but I do not believe I am ignorant, I am fairly well educated, I'm not stupid, and I'm not jumping too conclusions. Also just because I do not approve of homosexuality doesn't mean I am a homophobe. I respect homosexuals as people, with rights and everything. I even have liked a few homosexuals as people, some a fairly friendly. I still do not approve of homosexuality, and no amount of education will change that.

Fright, AHHH!
You know, I find that people who are afraid or anti gay, are usually afraid for their own sexuality. They may have at some point had a gay experience, in teenage years, or had an embarressing drunken experience, and therefore take it out on people who have the courage and the heart to show themselves and live there lives. Personally, I prefer hanging out with my gay friends more than my stright friends, I find that gays and lesbians are much more colourful and interesting! Alias xxxpetethemeat
