Childhood Innocence vs. Reality

Every child is born with this innocence, this knowledge of nothingness until the environment introduces ideas that taint the child's mind. Is it better to

1. let children keep a childhood-like innocence and then introduce the evils of the world? (how it is now)

2. keep children forever innocent? (living under a ROCK)

3. introduce them right away too reality, the "real world"?

4. other

Which do you think? Explain your reasoning.

Let the child retain their innocense for as long as they can. When they learn the realities of life they will always be able to say, "I remember when I was a kid and the worst thing that could happen was a scraped knee or a boo boo." Give them something to look back on and smile, 'the good old times'.

  • Growing brains

Let them learn the best way they can, from observation.

Children have a bit of safty when it comes to the real world, in that they learn at a very slow pace. That way they only learn the basics, a very broad range of skills, until their brain grows to be more complex.

I'm sure that's the way it goes.

i believe that if what ever u do you can not stop them from the real world its apart of life to be tempted by the devil and anything evil but to an extent you do not need to show them how to fight by puting alot of junk on the internet and tv but the games are awesome as long as they no its not real and they dont go and do it in real life childern need limits but they shouldn t have to much limits

  • We could close the gap

Children are very tender and innocent. The world on the othr hand is hard and predjudiced. The evil-minded adults pollute the minds of these youngsters. They grow up to become miscreants in the society, then they get the blame. If only the children could grow up with clean minds, the world would be a better place. Reality wouldn't be as harsh as it is now. Then it would be easier to raise them in a world where they wouldn't have their minds corrupted. It's so great to be in a child's world. But the onus lies on the adults to make sure their minds are not polluted as they grow. Then we all could live in the reality of our dreams. A better reality. Maybe that's hoping too far, but it starts somewhere.

  • True Innocence

Is it not the children that grow up to form this evil reality? Doesn't that show that there is not pure innocence in the children?

  • Realities impact

You arent a parent to firmly stand beside everytime he crosses the street and everytime he walks into an alley. You are his guidance and his moral voice, it is your teaching that will guide him throughout life as the way a bow leads its arrow to its target yet it does not control all the elements surrounding the arrow once it's left the bow, all the bow can do it to make sure it has a sturdy and stable course. Your child will experience reality when he will, and there is nothing reasonable you can do to stop it, nor should you.

  • Depends on the Child

We don't need to shove the real world in any childs face, but really the rest depends on the child and her/his parents. Everyone eventualy realised some truths about the world, some sooner than others. I believe we should just let our children grow up naturaly, but make sure to answer all questions truthfully and not say "you'le see when you grow up".
