Poetry has been the source of inspiration, imagination and beautiful portrayal of gorgeous feelings...but prose is becoming more popular these days due to its simplicity. Poetry is a bit complex and hard to understand in comparison to prose. Why people admire poetry even then and prefer it to prose????????

Prose is beautiful. It is the ability to freely write what the mind, and heart feels. Poetry has many restrictions, (forms) the use of metaphors and similies do confound some--abstract and concrete poetry also alludes many. Prose is often written in simple now-a-day language. I love them both. Actually, I love all forms of the written word. Also, prose may not be as pleasing to the eyes as poetry.

I do not understand what you say. Prose is old, too old. And it is not easy and as restricted as poetry. You can not compare in simplicity with Haikus for example. Now good old Baudelaire "Make poetry even in prose" Resume it all - The question is irrelevant.

You are Right Abstract Dreamer
Certainly poetry demands so many restrictions including rythm, personification, metaphor, limitation of verses, form and style that is compressed one, even then poesy is more delightful and sounds symphony in comparison with prose. Further, in poem/lyric, the creator precisely convey the long message in very limited and simple words! Please register or login to comment! It's totally free
