I think we have soul mates in the extent that we make deep connections with people. When that connection is deeper than and more intricate and complicated than anyone else's than you got yourself your very own soul mate....for the memnt. There's no reason to believe there's only one person you're going to love.
As for why it hurts? Who knows for sure? A mix of hurt pride, feeling like you messed up somehow, and a great similarity to mourning the loss of someone you love through some accident. This person was important to you and now they're gone. All you can do is mourn that it's over and eventually move on.

Love is created in us. It is the sweetest essence of life. All want to be love. we are sourround with the great force in our being. Love is extreamly delicate, invincible and imperishible . So when your loveone is walking away this love still stay because your heart had already melt to become one. So when the person leaves is like this bond is ripping away from you.

Strong love that is rear love. But i guess sometimes when you dont have something it becomes more special cause you don't face an everyday life with ups and downs or struggles through situatiions of life together. So you only hold on to the better part of the person. And not reality.

That being said you must understand that love is difficult but isn't it better to try again and again to have that chance for the perfect love then stopping after one reject and feel the stab of lonliness until you die so you don't have to feel the pain of rejection?
