If you notice almost all christians are very against homosexuality, but i ask this is it fair to go against their constitutional right to freedom of religion if they do not believe in "god" by not allowing them to be married because to the christians it is wrong. What harm will it do to have same sex marrages? The topic of AIDS doesn't apply because these people would have one partner, their spouse. If it is a gay pagan couple seeking to be married is it not unfair and unconstitutional to their freedom of religion to say they cannot be married because "god" does not allow it?To put religion into laws goes against all that our country stands for.

Is it illegal to take God's name in vain? No. Do people do it all the time? Yes. Is it illegal to work on the sabbath? No. Do people do it all the time? Yes. Is it illegal to marry one of the same sex? Yes. Why? When did it become ok to pick and choose what sins to regulate and legislate?

The Law of SinVoted for by kindelpeyzekiel.
the law of sin is the force in the carnal man which propels him to have evil desire and carry such out.science teaches that it requires a great deal of force to bring like charges together. So,the condition of like sexes having sexual intercourse is brought about by a great deal of vile passion. We are haters of God and so cannot obey him.We always justify through philosophical argument the good reasons for doing something wrong!Mind you, argument can defeat truth but cannot render it a false!because the homosexuals did not like to retain God in their knowledge ,God gave them over to a debased mind to do those things which are not fitting. The majority may accept it, but it doesn't makr gays right.christian religion may accept it,but the bible-based christianity is against it.

my viewVoted for by madhatter8989.
there are many reasons that christians beleive that homosexuality is wrong. (i am catholic and personally have no problem with it, it's a choice to engage in sexual activity with people of the same sex and does not concern me.) first of all the bible says that your body is a temple and to damage yourself purposefully is a sin in the eyes of the church. It is my understanding that many techniques of gay sex include things that may injur or hurt the human body. as far as gay marriage being legal, i think that it is because ,for one, there are too many problems with being politically correct as it is. there are too many times when people cannot voice their views because it may offend someone. Homosexuality may be "natural" but not in the sense that it's an adaptaion made by nature. my theory is that (if it's not a choice) there is some imbalance of hormones during developement that causes homosexuality so it could be called natural in the sense that it was something that happened in the womb and not by choice. these are not necisarily my views but why i think it is the view of some. like i said, i have no problem with gays or lesbians and i actually interact with them on a daily basis.

even though there are many christians who view homosexuality to be a sin, there are almost just as many christians who don't really care or are supportive of it. the only three religions that are against gays are the abrahamic religions and even they are divided on the topic because the bible/torah/qoran have been interpreted in different ways. some think that the bible is ok with gays while others think that it is strictly against gays. so basically you only have 3 halves of 3 religions that are against homosexuality. and you are right that the government shouldn't be taking religious ideas into it because that would be unfair to other religions-for example in native american religions it was perfectly fine to be in a gay relationship and gay couples were given a very high status in the tribe because since they didn't have children of their own, they could do more for the whole community. the government should rule based on what is best for the community, not what some religious asswads think.

I don't Agree with it, But let it be legalVoted for by crosscountry07.
First off, I don't care for homosexuality because of my beliefs. But if they want to get married, why not? As a Christian, I don't agree with it, but forcing my opinion on them is only going to turn them away. Sure I would tell them (and I have told my lesbian friend) I don't agree with it. God does not agree with it. But that does not mean that I won't be a friend to them. And I wont alienate them for it either.

HmmmmVoted for by TeChNoWC.
If the matter is not to be decided on religious motives, but rather a science driven society, then I would like to see more scientific inquiry put into testing whether or not homosexuality is a fetish flaw. (Cant believe I just supported science. Yuck.)
