Dreams are that little voice in your head.8% Voted for by Marmot Wisdom, jojo12790.
Dreams definitely matter. While I marginally agree with the person who said they are one of the ways God talks to us (I believe your "conscience", that little voice in your head, is for all intents and purposes whatever the definition of "God" is to those who believe in God). But your dreams represent issues you need to work through, self comfort, where your ideas blossom...and day dreams are equally important! Pay attention to your dreams and those little "fleeting thoughts" and you will begin to find your own inner truth.

dreams can have huge significance. in dreams you are only restricted by yourself, hence you can do things not ordinarily possible (defy gravity, etc) having said this you can replay real events, run through things your imagination has thought up... and in this way dreams can be used as a learning tool. but there are different kinds of dreams... some are just mental farts, as others have said, but i personally have had experiences with other types of dream. lucid dreams are fun, where you are concious of yourself while in the dream- and able to influence it. also i have had dreams which have seemed like out of body experiences, prophetic dreams, etc which are hard if not impossible to write off as imagined....

I don't usually dream alot, but when I do, I try to recall it. Usually it means that something is going to happen, or I do dream of events that will take place eventually. So, yeah, my dreams matter, maybe not to alot of people, but they matter.

Yes, I believe dreams matter. Because I've had many dreams that gave me insight to different things in my life, once I was open to receiving the information. I believe we can also visit people in our dreams and experience things we can't in the normal waking and this is great for our minds and bodies, because we don't have a great amount of that feeling where we believe we haven't fulfilled anything.
Like, has anyone ever dreamed of flying. And I don't mean in a plane, I mean actually flying like a bird or something. And then the dream JUST happened, or you made it happen - where you were able to fly? This type of things can go for anything else. Like, that dream where your crush comes to you and everything happens like you want it to and so on. (The only problem with this last example is, sometimes we can confuse "reality" from our dreams and accidently "mess" everything up in "reality" for ourselves. In various ways, once you mess it up - you know, because there's no guess work - you can't assume. It's just there.)

I believe dreams matter because I personally believe that is one of the ways God talks to us. It shows many times in the Bible that God talked to people and showed people things through dreams, and it also says God is never changing, therefore He must still do that today. I'm not trying to cram Christianity down anyone's throat, that's just how I personally believe.

Dreams matter. Sometimes they make no sense, sometimes they do make very much sense! I believe GOD uses dreams to communicate to people because when you are dreaming nothing is there to disturb you perhaps the snoring grandma in the other room.
I have had many dreams that have helped me in my choices in reality. Why wouldn't dreams matter?

Dreams do matterVoted for by Angelwatchingme.
Dreams do matter, they give us fuel for our soul. Dreams are our passion, our fire! If I sat back and let go of half of my dreams, I would not be where I am today. My dreams are sometimes prophecising dreams, that tell me things. A gift from God, I got to see my baby's face before he was born in a dream, after a prayer to God to let me know my baby was ok, so yes Dreams matter, they matter a great deal.

Dreams are just dreamsVoted for by UpsideDownFrown.
When you go to sleep, your brain starts emitting seratonin as part of the changeover to emitting delta waves. That seratonin prevents your brain from differentiating between reality and fantasy (yeah, some drugs do it too); therefore, every time a neuron leaks out of your memory, it generates in your mind's eye the impression of a real, literal experience. This is known as a "dream."
I don't think it makes dreams any less exciting to know that they're just blips in your brain. They don't tell the future, or your subconscious desires, or any of that nonsense. They're a bizarre and fascinating series of phenomena that occur in the brain. A good story told is a good story told even if it isn't based in reality.

I disagreeVoted for by Tweedle Dee.
I believe dreams come to you for a reason with a reason. If you would under stand that I believe that scientists try to discover everything, then you would understand my meaning becasue scientists are not always right and if I am telling the truth about what I heard on the news and radio then it is proven, that there is many many theories but that is my personal favorite because that I can prove one reason.
1. Some people expirence dreams that come true. Now this may be hard for he poeple who don't expirence this to believe, but to those who have you probably have the same opinion. If I took a pole, then I could name a good precentage who would agree with me on that but that is soley based on what they say. So its a variable process that would need a lie dectector test.
2. Dreams that you remember and don't remember. Now I do agree with the scientists on this one, where it matters how deep you are in your sleep to actually connect to the dreams to remember them. Like the stages in the center of the mountain, the theory if you heard of it, to how it just simplisizes that the state of mind is only how much you allow it to be conveying that the conscious is only part of the subconscious, thats why sometimes we drift and to conquer a problem that we don't know right away we could simply remember the answere a few days or hours later......Its all in he mind.
But yes I do believe dreams matter. Dreams is what wakes a person in the dead of the night and reminds them of their dreams and wishes. Dreams is what makes us persist in silence were you never realize that love is right in front of you. And dreams is what makes us move on to a better place. Dreams may be dreams, but you live the life they describe.
PS: And no Im not meaning being dead so don't commit suicide.

Personaly, my dreams hold great significance for me. I'm a Psychology student, so I'm usually pretty good at interpreting my own dreams and making sense of them, but sometimes I have to admit that I get stumped by the really weird ones... lol. Dreams fascinate me. But that's mostly my artistic side speaking... I'm a writer (studying in English Lit as well as Psych...) and I often find myself using my dreams as inspiration for what I write. But not everyone finds that kind of thing interesting, so to each his/her own.

Dreams are importantVoted for by Wolf of Roses.
I beleive that dreams can have different meanings behind them. Sometimes dreams might give you a glimpse into the future or maybe show you an important peice of your past. I beleive that dreams also sometimes have the function of providing you with comfort when you're stressed, scared, lonely, or whatever it might be. Some people may choose to ignore their dreams, but I believe that dreams are an important part of our lives.

Spirits and Dreams
Well, Froyd believed in dreams. I think dreams are your subconscious feelings surfacing. It's important to try to remember them, and try to figure out what they may mean, if you can. I also think spirits come to us in our dreams. My brother who just passed away did, and my Aunt years ago. They usually want to tell you that they are ok, and the dream will be vivid. Yes, I think dreams matter very much.March 4, 2006
