There is no truth25% Voted for by redbrita, 5th position Gb, Happy 420, potaytotomahto, the pistol star.
There is no truth, there is only the preception of something seen as real. I mean, What if one persons perception of someone is one thing, while someone elses is another. Then which one is the true personality of the person. And If the whole world percieves one thing to be true (that isn’t) while only one person sees the truth (which is) Then who is right, The one who can see the truth or the world that percieves the truth as something that its not. The world would be considered right while the truth wrong, as it is not the overall perception of the “truth”. ... Comments? I know I’m confusing… >.<

Truth simply is.15% Voted for by Darkness, konshu, Binnieboy.
There are countless publications out there who claim they know what the truth is. And anyone who reads the bible should know what truth is. The same goes for those who believe in science, phylosophy, mysticism and the like. I think we as human beings look for a truth in vain when the truth can't be found because it is. Too look for it, you must first live above or below it to fully see it. But we all live in the midst of it, smack dab in the middle of it all.We are the truth, we just don't know it. The higher essence or order or life, God or however we may name his being, looks out onto the birds, the trees, the sky, space and even the entire universe and sees the truth of its existance, just as he sees everything else. This being is a spiritual entity, so it see the life within the thing instead of the covering of that thing. Therein lies the truth, the is, the I Am. This my friends is the only truth. WE EXSIST IN SPIRIT, WE LIVE WITHIN FLESH. BEGIN THERE THEN GO LOOK FOR KNOWLEDGE, THEN YOU WILL GAIN UNDERSTANDING. THEN WISDOM WILL FIND YOU AND YOU WILL FIND THE TRUTH.

Truth is not reality, nor is it the bible.10% Voted for by CLoUdY, LaDiabla.
To say truth doesn’t exist is preposterous. To say that a book written by keniving, greedy, and unjust men is the truth is hypocrit. Truth is the realization that what is, is and what isn’t, isn’t. Truth cannot be told, written justyfied or explained it must be learned. Unfortunately for many we will not learn the truth untill we die and can no longer deliberate upon it. It would just be known. So in order to know the truth we must admit we know nothing at all.

What is Truth? A simple answer...God10% Voted for by Mary O, jfritzyb.
Did not God make you? Does God ever make mistakes? Does God know everything? If these things are true, than if God never makes mistakes, knows everything, and made someone as complex as you, then wouldn’t He be Truth? (If you have another opinion as to how you were made, it is because you are trying to hide from the reality of God—in the meantime, trying to find a different answer apart from God. In other words, you are trying to prove that God doesn’t exist, because you don’t WANT to believe that God exists! Honestly ask yourself, “Why do I believe all this? Is it because it’s scientific fact or because I don’t want to admit that God exists?”) www.drdino.com So, if God did all that, He is perfect. If he is perfect, than He NEVER makes mistakes. If He never makes mistakes, than He is correct 100% of the time. If He is correct 100% of the time, than…He IS truth! And to know and follow Him, is to know and follow Truth!

The statement there is no truth cancels itself out; because if there is no truth then that statement is not true. If truth does not exist what is it when i tell you my login is sinner118, it is correct so surely it is the truth.

Truth, as Wisdom, is Divine.Voted for by Mary O.
As I posted before. Truth, as Wisdom, is Divine. Interesting thing about truth, it need never be questioned; unlike an untruth which requires on going thought process and need for justification. Truth brings with it interior peace, a feeling of freedom from all worry and strife. Truth is also Love. Oh my, have we discovered God.
"The beginning of wisdom is fear of the Lord, which is formed with the faithful in the womb." Sirach 1:12 -
Truth TheoryVoted for by GaryCGibson.
Truth theories abound, yet I agree that Jesus Christ is truth from whom all things are created.
A logic theory of truth is one created by P.F. Strawson called the disquotation theory of truth...It is a way of abbreviating a list of things that one would need to say that each is a fact. One can make innumerable examples. One could ask is it true that an odd number follows every even number in the realm of natural numbers. Instead of saying each one to infinity one can say 'yes it's true'.One may say that something is a fact or true, and it actually is not a fact. That is one could say that it is day outside, when in fact it is night.
Obviously one wants to get one facts, terms and meanings straight in turth theory or one may get wrong or false answers for instance...
In asking if it's day outside and it's night, one might be talking about the light outside the door on the dark side of the moon, or in Africa, instead of home at the Presidio in San Francisco where Lucus Film spends five million annually on rent.
Because Jesus Christ created the Universe (I believe), if He really did, then instead of truth just being a disquotation method of making comments about an inventoried universe, all facts and statements of fact about truth would be in the ultimate context Jesus Christ.
For just people of the universe disquotation truth statements that cohere with actual facts of the universe would be true statements. One could have a more relativistic or correspondant or even (perjoratively) use-thruth context for social and perhaps psychological truths and meanings.
The confusion about truth theory and its meaning and the relation of statements about the physical universe versus statements about social and linguistic conditions of truth or falsehood has led some to disbelief that such a thing as truth exists at all.Conditional and contingent 'truths' are possibly more difficult for some to straighten out, and then there are combinmations of physical 'facts' and social ideas that end up as political use-truths and definitions of truth according to the syndictate gospel of wealth (fossil fuel is truth and eviro-wacko's alt fuels bad! some talk show hosts postulate).

TruthVoted for by Tino.
The Truth is a fact that has been verified, conformity to reality or actuality, the quality of nearness to the truth or true value. Everyone disputes its meaning, but it never lies. Truth denotes a static assertion that changes from person to person, opinion to opinion, culture to culture, Truth is exact time, place, form and event. The truth is a moment. But the “moment of truth” is different. It separates good from great. It’s the difference between the story and a story. It’s about standing your ground in the face of adversity. It’s a moment between the present and the past. It’s a heartbeat that splinters the silence. And it ends the moment it begins.

The Definition of Truth; as in the truth of how things should be rather than how we think things should be-when it comes to organizing societyTruth is the absolute reality, under which all subjective realism is false, that follows a consistence of objective observations on all aspects of that which is being observed, thus giving an order by which things should be governed.Voted for by WAHRevolution.
(Ex: Truth is not biased, and does not follow cultural tradition such as Religion or hate against another culture. So, an example of Truth would be that Human beings are all the same all around the world, and no human is inferior or superior to the other, and social classes do not exist under truth. Truth is that religion should not have any influence on the organization and norms of society, because Religion is not Truth. Anything following a spiritual point of view is not truth. Anything following a human bias is not Truth. Truth is itself, and can only be observed, not created. One cannot say that Gays shouldn't have rights and say it's truth, because it is a false bias, and such bias should not govern society. We should govern society with Truth.
Our society today, even ones around the world, follow a subjective realism. Society should be governed by Truth. So, understanding the definition, how can we incorporate an authority of Truth into the social, political, and economical aspects of society? Should we be governed by Truth? Or should we continue the way we are? What needs to be fixed, looking at our society today?

you are on the same page as me
dood i have ALWAYS thought that, but you just put it into words, thank you. there exist in this world things like illusions, deception, et cetera. that is to say, that some one can "KNOW" something and still be incorrect... as for your world perceiving something to be untrue example, i would say that depends on your motives. if youre going in for a job interview you would probably dress and conduct yourself differently than with your friends, not to say that youre not being true to yourself. you just have different goals with different circumstances, i think this question might be too complex to think generally but youve done a good job of making your point clear great write man --rinFebruary 7, 2007
