I don’t acknowledge the presence of of something I cannot sense empirically. God is about as literal as love, a man-made convention used to define a feeling. This is how I see it: Religion is a creation of man. Religionists and Atheists both agree on that. Religion, and other man-made conventions are how we first learn of god. If our only way of realizing a god exists, to afterwards “Feel” its presence in our lives, is to study man’s inventions, then all gods must be anthropomorphic, because whatever entails in a man-made creation (god), is ultimately inspired by none other than man himself. Theists and Atheists have been debating over the years about whether or not god exists. Often those debates always come to an end with the phrase: “God cannot be proven or disproven, it’s all a matter of faith.” My response to this is: “Faith is the belief in the unverifiable, knowledge is the acceptance of something verified.” Also, It can be said that god cannot be proven or disproven, surely…but If God cannot be proven or disproven, that also implies that God could never have been proven, and God’s ‘genesis’ was merely the hypothesis of ignorant primitives. “But if it was merely a product of unknowledgeable people, how could it have lasted this long?”...well, my answer to that is: “God bless you”. lol…the black plague, long since past, is still living in us all today…People like to freeze their environment or beliefs when it is most comfortable to them.
In conclusion, I’d like to state that false be’lie’fs are the rising fad. “If it feels good, do it!”- never had such a disgusting ring to it.

My Justifications9% Voted for by Ahkam, Inky Pool.
Do I believe in God? Yes, I do.. Have I always believed? No, I haven’t. There was a long period of time in my life in which I didn’t believe in God. I’m the kind of person who needs proof, but after thinking about it obsessively and asking people what they thought, it came to me. It’s all a matter of faith and how you view the world. I have my own personal reasons why I believe. Yes, there is a lot of dying, pain, injustice, etc in the world but God gave Man free will. Blaming God for all the mistakes people make isn’t going to get anyone anywhere. I know for a fact that people will disagree with what I’m saying but that’s fine. Everyone is allowed their own personal beliefs and opinions. You have to look at the good things in life such as waking up to see another beautiful day. Everyone seems to have such a negative view on their life, they never take the time to be thankful for all they have. And just think of this, in believing in God, are you losing anything?

It's senseless to say some supernatural source did not exist9% Voted for by Fractured Soul, whatshisface.
For one thing, God gives free will, THATS why theres pain, strife, people struggling to make it….we make our own decisions…if God didnt give us free will then wed just be robots programmed to follow Him..he doesnt want that…He wants real love from us….and as far as Him existing or not..people who believe theres no supernatural force whatsoever that created everything are just kidding themseleves cuz thats simply foolish…..to say everything was created by accident is absolutely ludicrous…and i know that God is real for if He werent my prayers wouldnt get answered just out of sheer coincidence….so yea….

He's only there... If you believe he is... Or she, you never know :pVoted for by Igshnarf000001.
I believe god, and all other religous... I dunno... Idols? Are just these things people use to give them hope and support, personified into this being that exists within peoples minds only. I myself don't believe there is a god, but every now and then, its nice to think there is... Just incase.

LOOK AROUND!Voted for by Glamorous.
Look around you! Look at the seas, the sunset, the planets, the stars, look at the perfection that keeps us alive. The wonders of the earth, the human body, and the universe. And tell me it was all a freak accident. I don’t think so. God made it to show His power and beauty. He is the ULTIMATE creator.

look around you, what do you see? i see pain and strife i see people struggling to make it, people killing others and no one helping the victim or their family. if god existed wouldn’t he send something or someone to console us, wouldn’t he do something, make it easier on us just a little bit, give us a break from all the pain and heartache. if god truly exists why has he forgotten about some of his children and let us get beat by boyfriends and almost killed and made to watch your cousin die? where is god when you truly need him if he does exist? so no he doesn’t in my opinion!

Maybe yes, maybe noVoted for by dauer.
Maybe God does exist and maybe God doesn’t. We can’t prove or disprove this matter, even if it may become easier to prove or disprove a particular paradigm. Some of us will believe and some of us won’t. I believe.

yea...Voted for by allnotgood.
God may not be real, but i do not believe in just one God. if there is a God, then there are more then one. i believe in many of the so-called 'new age', or pagan, Gods and Goddess's. if there is a God, that is.

Why?Voted for by IRulzHurDur.
Why do you people bicker so inconclusively about this? You’ll never know untill you die, so go post “yes” in the suidice and tell us who’s right when you get “there”. Just accept the fact that you really haven’t a clue and indulge in your inquisitive nature.

Is god real or notVoted for by darkdragon.
You are all saying god is real or not…But now heres your problem….We wont know…I myself am atheist, and wouldnt change it…But theres always the chance god could or couldnt exist…and we as humans will never know…Atleast not till we die then we will see who is right and wrong..i wont admit GOD DOES EXIST unless theres proof..But i will always admit i can be wrong and you all should too

Question isn't RelevantVoted for by radioboy.
The real question is what is man? Does she have a part in creation or are we simply like a flower, come for a brief time and then gone for an eternity?
To me 100 million light years is infinite and as I am to understand astronomers have not really seen the edge of the Universe. In fact they never will since as space expands further into whatever, the light can never reach our tiny planet.
The question is this, if there is no special creation and no God, how is our Universe so in tune allowing life? One explanation, there are is an infinite number of alternative universes, and this is perhaps one of a very select few, that permit life. Of course, this fails to explain why any Universe should exist at all. I think some of these questions are too challenging for science or the human mind.

The conception is ever changing. Someday we’ll get it right.

Probablity NoVoted for by Piscean Wisdom.
There are more than a billion explainations for the universe, some we didn’t even come up with yet. God is only one of them. therefore, it is most likely that he did not exist.
Ofcourse, some people say that god is, for example, a ball of light. Others say he’s our conscience. That is simply changing the definition of the word, and doesn’t mean you believe in the same thing. So if god is every theory that ever existed, then yes, I do believe in god.

NO HE IS NOTVoted for by Keegan A Combes.
He was created from the Minds of Mankind. Man kind was the one who created the belief, so God would have never been created, if Mankind never existed.

in believing in God, are you losing anything
I don't believe in god, but i accept the belief because any way you look at it, human's are unable to fully explain their existance, and so the attempt at explanation in itself is something more beautiful, i think, than would be complete knowledge of everythingJune 17, 2005

why devote your life to someone who has no proof of existence?
I'm not saying its a bad thing to believe in god, but, what about all the stuff that comes with it? All the sinning etc... I'm no expert, but all the stuff the bible says sounds a bit farfetched and I don't see why someone would want to live by it. Don't think I'm being horrible or anything, theres nothing wrong with believing theres a god. Please register or login to comment! It's totally free
