Is science and religion interrelated?

I believe they areVoted for by The Chameleon.
Science and religion are the foundations of human thought. To connect science and religion one must understand that science is able to prove the existence of God because of the beginning of the universe. The events at the beginning needed to happen in such a particular way that if it didn't the universe would be non-existent.

yes, they both help us ;)Voted for by chaotic999life.
Science and religion are interrelated in the sense that they are both there for the betterment of people, to help people...now this does not always mean that they both help people, because let's face it--nuclear bombs that kills millions of people...religious warfare...I don't think such acts really help people, especially not the ones that are dying...:S But then again, people are such that they are able to turn a pencil into a weapon...weird but true. Nonetheless, ultimately, both religion and science were created to help people to suceed in life, and to be better people, physically and spiritually...to be a whole person..

But science at least tries to weed out some of the more egregious errors.

how does one connect religion and science?Voted for by rob7.
Religeon is just an old method of explaining the mysteries of existence. Before scientific explanation of electricity the unknown phenoemena of lightning was explained by capricious gods in many different cultures.Science is a tool humans use to achieve goals that are valuable to them.We use it to predict future events.Religeon has been replaced by science as a more valuable tool but sceince is limited to the world in which we live.It is no more accurrate than religion when speculating about what happens when we die.

Using Ad Hominem gets you nowhere
I'm not a maniac as you say. When attacking another's opinion attack that opinion by using supportive evidence don't attack the person. When attacking the person you are using ad hominem which is a bad argument. For you stating that they are opposites that is your opinion. Science and religion can be connected in some ways yes. Most people who are scientists consider science to be a religion. By using the definition of religion as being something that someone believes wholeheartedly in. Although, one can look at what Bertrand Russell said as science and religion not being connected. Russell was able to hypothesize that science and religion are two separate entities as you have stated. You should read his book Religion and Science. Its very good.February 11, 2006
