Did the holocaust really happen or is it a myth?

Holocaust. Fact or Fiction.

  • Fact

The holocaust is a fact. Those who do not believe it occurred, should visit Auschwitz...or talk to a German-Jew who has a number burned into his/her wrist...

The holocaust is a reminder of a time in our human history when intolerance and prejudice were not only words, but millions of dead bodies...

The intolerance shown by especially the Muslim communities today, is like a chilly message from Hitler's dead Third Reich.

Even at the Nuremberg trials the holocaust wasn't denied. All the defendents did was say it wasn't me or I was just a lowly guard if I didn't murder at least 50 Jews a day for six years I would have been arrested!!! Like that made it ok... SICK MURDERING B******S

  • Holocaust. Fact of Fiction

Alright, if anyone has been paying attention to the news lately as of the last 3 or so monthes, one would've heard that interesting statements by the Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad who said that the holocaust did not actually happen. He says it a Jewish myth, a ploy by the Israelis to get support from the western leaders. Now, who is right? Do we have trustworthy documents that prove the happenstance of the holocaust of the Jews or is this president of Iran right in his thinking?

  • hmm...

Though i do not deny that the holocaust happened, i would stress the importance of looking at all sides of an issue. Im canadian, and it was a part of my english 12 course to learn about the holocaust. i think almost all canadians are put through that content at some time or another, and are encouraged (not even subtley) to hate anyone who tries to deny what hitler did. At the same time I was learning about it, it occured to me that the entire unit seemed like massive propaganda meant to force us to believe what the government wants, rather than information presented objectively so we can really learn. now i don't know what the f**k i'm on about, but what im trying to say is that i can understand why some people would suspect the holocaust never happened even if i don't share that belief.

  • Ridiculous

Anyone who denies the Holocaust has some sort of agenda... I've never once heard of an objective Holocaust denier. As a Holocaust and Genocidal Stuides scholar for the last couple years, as well as history major, I can say with confidence that the plethora of physical evidence (i.e. tattooed inmate numbers, health problems of survivors, presence of mass graves throughout Eastern Europe, scratches on the walls of gas chambers, etc.), first hand accounts and corroborating evidence of all sorts is enough to confirm nearly every facet of the Holocaust as well as almost any other event in the twentieth century. Behind every Holocaust denial you are guaranteed to find a clear agenda.
