All there is to it.15% Voted for by Temprance, Aytac Atlas, Lady Soldier, XxRaDiAnTtRaGeDyXx, Chanell.
“To love is to suffer. To avoid suffering, one must not love. But then, one suffers from notloving. Therefore, to love is to suffer; not to love is to suffer; to suffer is to suffer. To be happy is to love. To be happy, then, is to suffer, but suffering makes one unhappy. Therefore, to be happy, one must love or love to suffer or suffer from too much happiness.”

That's a mouth full!9% Voted for by BrandonHerron270, Lady Soldier, The Bondage Faerie.
Suffering does come with love. I cannot deny that. When you love someone you are willing to suffer with them. All of love is not suffering. It's joy and happiness as well. After you get past the puppy love stage, usually someone gets scared. This is the time when they decide whether or not they want to be with that person for the rest of their life. Okay, really, to live is to suffer. Everyone suffers. It's no big deal. But when you love someone, it gives a reason to suffer. If you love someone enough to suffer through everything with them, and be there for them, the suffering doesn't really even feel like suffering. You know the saying "love conquers all?" Love overcomes the suffering and brings joy in the worst of times. Love is not a feeling. It is not an emotion. Emotions and feeling come with love, but they come with everything. You can't look at something without an emotion, but emotions and feelings pass. Sadness, anger, happiness are emotions or feelings. They all fade in time. Love is there through every emotion. Love is a fact. It is a mutual respect, care, and something else that isn't even in the English language that you have for someone. It's the willingness to die for someone, with the longing to live for them.

Security Blanket?6% Voted for by audiothing13, Lady Soldier.
Love is something people create in their mind to feel more secure, or to make someone else feel secure. As a child you grow up looking at the way your parents act...are they in love? My parents fight alot, but say they still love eachother. When someone abuses their children or spouse, the abused stays with them becuase of love. Love is the same as fear, security and familiarity. You think love is, based on the examples you see as a child.

What is your definition of love?6% Voted for by mynameishoneybee, Lady Soldier.
Everyone wants to know how it feels like to love and be loved, unconditionally. What is unconditional love? Is there such a thing? To begin with, what is love? How do you know what love is? Some say it is a feeling. It is only felt. Correct me if I'm wrong. What kind of love is there? Are there many parts to love? The love with your family and friends and the love from that significant other. Different levels of love? What is love to you? Give me your definition.

To me...6% Voted for by SoldierOfDreams, BrandonHerron270.
Love is breaking your back for the ones you love and not expecting them to do the same, even though they do to the best of their abilities.
Love is Protecting the ones you love, and feeling protected by the ones you love; even if they are kids.
Love is showing your kids the world, even if you can only actually give them the front yard for a while.
Love is teaching others of the world's wonders, and dangers; and understanding, respecting and learning from and about them yourself. Love is never envious, and always patient.

ok...6% Voted for by PsychotikPoet, Lady Soldier.
gay people have to fight for love(while most straight people are fighting for divorce). If a couple can keep fight for their love, and can make it through everything else they are going through(no matter if people hate or whatever) and when the fight for their love is done(whether accepted or not) and they still love each other through everything that has happened...THAT is true love

Unanimous DefinitonVoted for by Sankofalokumbe.
I think love has many definitions depending on who is speaking. Because everyone sees things differently, every has a different defintion of love. What is my definition of love, you may ask. I see love as a destination, along with world peace. When you find love (though few people ever do)I think your mind will be contempt. I think loveis not only a destination, but a force of nature also known as God. I think many people reject God because they have the wrong definition of God. God is described as omnipotent and all powerful, and I think that is the perfect defintion of love. Love is what saves an enemy from being obliterated, not pity.

GuiltVoted for by Ravens-Black-Wing.
Love is a rationalization of the human mind. Instead of admitting that we simply rut like animals to reproduce mankind has created the term "love" to ease the guilt they feel at simply using others for sexual pleasure.

For survival...Voted for by chaotic999life.
Love is affection, care, and genuine concern for the wellbeing of another...another person,..or even a pet, an animal. But we also love other things, like fame, money, and clothes...that is a craving, a desire. It's true what many people say, love has different meanings. the word itself has many connotations... I think, looking from an evolution point of view, that love is equivalent to the protective nature of animals...the way the old animals protect the young..the way the male animals protect the group, the herd, etc. Because we, humans, can think, and can feel emotions, it, love, is a heightened, more thoughful, version of that basic nature of creatures. We give it a name, "love" and we categorize it...love between parents and children, spouses, partners, siblings, friends or comrades, etc...but basically love is a means of survival of the species.
I love love

LOVE ISVoted for by queen prophet06.
LOVE IS CONSTANTLY WANTING TO SEE THAT PERSON, TOUCH THAT PERSON. LOVE CAN MAKE YOU FEEL AS HIG AS A BIRD; BUT IT CAN ALSO MAKE YOU FEEL AS LOW AS DIRT. SOMETIMES EVEN ASHAMED. BUT STILL PEOPLE WOULD KILL JUST TO EXPERIENCE THE SENSATION OF WHAT LOVE CAN REALLY BE.

Oh my oh myVoted for by frndofyaweh.
Love is more than one emotion and very hard to define. Look carefully above, at all the differing views and how not more than one or two, agrees with that view, before a whole brandnew view is posted.
This is not absolute, but the greek translations of the five kinds of loves, are most likely the closest.
Only God can give unconditional love. For it IS a human thing to attach a condition of self.
Notice for just plain example: what queen prophet06 said above me; QueenProphet NEEDS to be close to that other(personal want or need has been applied)
If I love you unconditionally; I give you a choice to be near or far, I give you choice to love me back or not, without that changing how I feel about you.

The Ultimate SacrificeVoted for by Forgotten Dust.

AMAZING MIRACLEVoted for by Jazmin Saavedra.
Looking in your eyes, amazed. I believed in faith ones again. Confused by the world where we both have been betray and scarfs have been left deep inside the heart. Wanting to find an amazing miracle. Like lost souls who reunited when their physical bodies departure the earth. We found each other connecting with one another. Escaping from reality, sympathizing with true divine light of passion. Attempting to control desired. Mentally tied with a tread of invisible seduction our souls will reunited together.

LoveVoted for by A Thought Persists.
Love is a word, nothing more, nothing less. It is not the word that matters, and if you truly 'love' someone, they should know it without you having to say it every minute of that day. You know someone loves you when they never have to say it.

Love is
Love is not a matter of suffering nor is it a matter of happiness, love is simply love the rest are merely some of the effects that come as a result of being in love, ie; pain is pain not matter what caused it. Pain is the effect of something that caused it, but the pain is in itself simply pain as love is simply love.TC
