Alright this is for discussion about fat. Being fat or your opinion about overweight people.

GROSSVoted for by a sweetheart lost.
I may sound very mean but this is how i feel. I cant stand fat people. they disgust me. I'm not talking 5 or 10 or even 30 pounds overweight. the huge nasty fat people that have trouble walking give me the shivers. I am not overweight at all and thank goodness it only takes a little bit of work to stay in shape. I just cant stand when fat people are so lazy. I'm not saying it is a character trait for overweight people to be lazy maybe it is medication or other things but over all it is plain not getting of your arse and doing something. I blame desk jobs a lot. Just the other day at the dentist office I saw a woman that was 5'5" and must have weighed 300 pounds sitting at the desk. When she wanted a file she would lean back in her chair, hold her hand in the air and tell someone to get it for her. Yuck! I guess my opinion on this matter has a lot to do with how hard I work. When I work I work hard and to my best ability as quickly as possible. If someone isn't working just as hard I feel like they have something against me. I don't know how that works it just is that way.
OK sorry about the rambling It is hard to really describe the feeling. Also some quick facts I found on the web. 64% of Americans are over weight. The average female waist size in the 50's was 27" today it is 37".
that is all

yeah
I agree with you in the fact that I hate to see fat people. I hate even more to see fat children. I just feel sorry for them. But there are some cases where body chemistry may be so severely disrupted that they can't control their metabolism or something like that. But I don't think that all 64% of them are like that. A couple nights ago I was at a bowling alley and saw a severely obese mother sitting in a chair by the lanes and eating from a bag of chips AND a bag of M&Ms. That is beyond disgusting.February 20, 2006

gross maybe absurd definite
To me its not that its gross its that without help they cannot live. If a person cannot survive on their own to me there is a unnessasrity for them to be alive. If your mom is sick thats one thing. If your dad is old thats another thing. If your loved one goes mad thats another thing. If your beloved brother is retarded thats another. BUT if your co-worker is fat because she eats more then the typical elephant then that is my point.March 8, 2006

sometimes it's genetic, so have a heart
some overweight people cannot help it. sometimes it's a genetic problem, usually caused by a glandular disorder. You wouldn't speak so harshly of someone in a wheelchair, would you? same difference. my wife is overweight, and she's a vegitarian! should I stop loving her because she's fat? I would hope not! Fat people are still people, and should be judged fairly like everyone else. icidentally, I have a friend who eats 5 times as much as my wife does, and yet still is skinny as a rake. explain THAT! if anyone ever deserved to be fat, it's this glutton, but you could use his bones for toothpicks, and he's more of a couch potato than I am!March 8, 2006

to each his fat own
There are all kinds of reasons people are fat. Just like there are all kinds of reasons people are skinny. I don't "hate" super-sized folks, I feel bad that their mobility is impinged and I wonder what maybe their life has been like to get them to that point. I try to not judge as best I can, especially when I don't have the whole story. The fact of the matter is I am fat by just about any standard and it used to really hurt when people would talk bad or make comments about me, and from time to time it still does, if I'm in a tender mood, however, NOW I just roll my eyes when people make assumptions about me because I know they are WRONG. Since I became a confident person (long past my skinny days) I have come to realize that people are more attracted to me NOW than they were when I fit that society standard, and I know it's because of what I radiate - not because of what I look like. Sure, some small minded (and bodied) people still will think I'm lazy, fat, gross, I can't stop that, some people will remain small minded about me. As for the person who made the statment about there not being fat people in history - they don't know what they are talking about. The standard today for what is considered overweight is drastically differernt than it was just fifty years ago. Furthermore THE MOST EDURING SEX SYMBOL Marilyn Monroe was fat by today's standards - if she went to a movie studio today she would be told to lose forty pounds - she hovered between a size 14-18. That is considered "plus size" these days. I sort of feel sad when I read blanket statments that fat people are gross and lazy. It makes me wonder what else they think is important or bad and what else they meditate on. Heather Bartlett The Goddess Chronicles http://art.allzah.com Allzah Art www.allzah.comApril 1, 2006

Small in the way that counts
Interesting that someone would be so willing to admit to being prejudice in this way, hating someone solely based on their appearance. I for one choose to get to know someone before I decide to expend the mental calories neccesary to hate them. I also find it interesting that the original author of this post, in a previous post on another topic is quoted as saying "I agree. Free will, imagination, the ability to react to emotion (love hate sorrow) and thumbs!!". This was in responce to the question WHAT MAKES US HUMAN. While I do appreciate the honesty portrayed in the original post, I hope that, in time,( a sweetheart lost )will mature enough intellectually enough to realise that to hate, while sometimes usefull, is immature when directed to appearance. May whatever forces govern your life smile upon you. Please register or login to comment! It's totally free
