i think children should get paid to go to school they work hard and break there backs and they don't get any pay at all there workin why shouldan't they get paid and if children get paid to go to school i think children will attend school 100%

I Think Children Should Get Paid To Go To School and also have no concept of grammer.

  • No.

Children go to school to prepare themselves for life, and to learn so their futures are better. Why should anyone pay a child for learning?

I believe to say children should get paid for such things, is a pretty immature thing to say. If a child works hard, they benefit themselves in the future. If a child doesn't, they're just screwing themselves over. There is absolutely no reason to pay a child to go to school in order get good grades. They should be able to do that on their own, without money involved.

Also, children would be going to school for the wrong reasons. You shouldn't have to be paid to do well in school. That's wrong, to me.

If you're required to go to school, suck it up and go. That's life, you shouldn't have to get paid for learning. If you want to be paid, get a job.

  • Why?

While I was in high school I wondered and thought the same thing. School is work to so why shouldn't we get paid? Then after graduating and going out in the real world supporting myself and looking for a good job and an great place to start out on my own I understood why we don't. They are teaching us. You may not see it now but they are. They are teaching us about responsibility. When you don't turn in your homework or classwork and you get after school detention or something like that, it's showing you that when you get out and start working good jobs then you can't just not do something because you don't feel like it, it dont work that way. You'll get paid, but not get paid for going to school. You'll get paid for the job you have after you graduate. Hopefully you'll have a high paying job. If you do graduate then you'll get paid more then most of the drop outs. If you go to college you'll get paid more then people that just graduated high school. So you do get paid but not in school. See what I'm saying?

  • Why aren't parents paid to room and board kids?

Well? Not everything in life comes with a monetary value. An education is a privledge, a privledge only a child can not appriciate. Nobody pays people to get out of bed in the morning, brush their hair, brush their teeth or change their clothes. People do it because they value themselves and want to be healthy.

There are places in this world where education is merely an unattainable dream, all over the world people pay to be educated, not paid to learn.

So, no, children should not be paid to learn. If they want to be paid, perhaps they should put their education to good use and think of a way to generate an income for themselves.

  • How about this...

Instead of paying the KIDS money, we pay the teachers MORE. I don't know about the rest of the world but I'm pretty sure it's the same, teachers get paid in peanuts. The saddest part of this is, without someone to teach you, you can't become the Doctor or Lawyer or whatever it is that makes you so much money. Teachers should be the #1 highest paid job worldwide.

  • Awwwww....

The problem here as I see it is this. You see going to school as a chore, something you have to do. When really you should be looking at it as a right that is yours.

The government has your education and the method of getting it from them is to go to school. It is your right and you should be demanding it, it is it's own reward.

Your getting an education is not a service that you are providing it is a service society is providing for you.

It is a sign of immaturity when someone cannot see education for the wonderful "right" it is.

  • Eh

We have enough problems supplying the schools and teachers and EDUCATION without wasting money on the kids. It's a service for them, they're not producing anything we can use.

  • Lazy

The past three generations are the first in history that have not had to work as children. My mother didn't, but both of her parents worked in the fields and on farms.

Pay kids to go to school? That's crap. Kids today (self included when I was a kid) don't know what hard work is. My grandparents would have preferred to go to school on not work.

  • They do!!!

Kids DO get paid to go to school - I can say this being a student myself. I don't know if any of you are aware of the new Educational Maintenance Allowance Scheme? (EMA). This is where students who stay on at school past 16 are eligible to earn £10, £20 or £30 a week depending on the income of their household. It's supposed to encourage students who come from less well-off backgrounds to stay on at school. And I think it's worked. You only get your EMA if you make it to every lesson - miss even one and it's cancelled for that week. Perform well in exams and bonuses are available. While it's a little irritating for people like me who are not eligible for it and still do exactly the same amount of work, I can also see why it's been employed. For example, my friend gets £10 a week which *just* covers her bus fare which her parents would struggle to pay otherwise.

  • Knowledge is

Knowledge and learning, thusly education in it's entirety, is a privilege - the problem is not children, it's society. Children and students should be shown what a blessing and gift it is merely to be able to learn, to hav e an opportunity. Payment for learning would only perpetuate this warped view of one of the crucial facets of humanity and reason.

  • American Problem

This shows that kids have too much emphasis on money, not knowledge. America has been pumping out BUSINESS STUDENTS that only know how to take 10% of other people's money, and never how to build or produce something on their own. The rest of the world is surpassing USA in technology. This is just one of the reasons America's consumerist culture is on the down. As it appears nobody wants to change it, USA deserves it.

  • Maybe

It obviously would encourage more teens to stay in school. No doubt about that, but being able to go to school without paying is a previlege. So many children across the world do not get to. At the same time, many countries have free college. It would really help out our economy if we had free college more than being paid in high school. I think under certain circumstances, some people should be given money to go to high school if they live on their own, have kids, etc... We would certainly have less drop outs and smarter people if people were paid based on merit in school.
