You’ve decided to do it. Life is impossible. Suicide is your way out. Fine—but before you kill yourself consider these facts: Suicide is not usually successful. You think you know a guaranteed way? Ask the 25-year-old who tried to electrocute himself. He lived. But, both his arms are gone. What about jumping? Ask John. He used to be intelligent , with an engaging sense of humor. That was before he leapt from a building. Now, he’s brain-damaged and will always need care. He staggers and has seizures. He lives in a fog. But, worst of all, he KNOWS he used to be normal. What about pills? Ask the 12-year-old with extensive liver damage from an overdose. Have you ever seen anyone die of liver damage? You turn yellow. It’s a hard way to go. What about a gun? Ask the 24-year-old who shot himself in the head. Now he drags one leg, has a useless arm and has no vision or hearing on one side. He lived through his “foolproof” suicide. You might too. But…Who will clean your blood off the carpet or scrape your brains from the ceiling? Commercial cleaning companies may refuse that job- -but SOMEONE has to do it. Who will have to cut you down from where you hung yourself or identify your bloated body after you’ve drowned? Your father? Your mother? Your wife? Your son? The carefully worded “loving” suicide note is of no help. Those who loved you will NEVER completely recover. They’ll feel regret and an unending pain. Suicide is contagious. Look around your family. Look closely at the 4 year old playing with his cars on the rug. Kill yourself tonight, and he may do it ten years from now. You DO have other choices. There are people who can help you through this crisis. Call a hotline. Call a friend. Call your minister or priest. Call a doctor or hospital. Call the police.They will tell you that there’s hope. Maybe you’ll find it in the mail tomorrow. Or in a phone call this weekend. But what you’re seeking could be just a minute, a month, or a day away.You say you don’t want to be stopped? Still want to do it?Well, then, I may see you in the psychiatric ward later.And we’ll work with whatever you have left.

ummm… this is one of the most depressing things i have ever seen… you do realize that someone could come and read this late at night when they are depressed and cant think of anything else to do, and decide that they want to try one of these… i think that its stupid and irresponsible to post something like this. did the originator even think about what could happen??? i really wish that people would think before they did shit, it would make the world a hell of a lot better.

just wondering, but aside from promoting an idea of suicide (which we already have to much of as it is) what does this have to do with philosophy at all? personally, and this is just a guess, I don’t think it has anything to do with philosphy at all.

i would and have personally treid “the everything”, first you get drunk as hell then you take a boatload of pills then after that you cut yourself (wrists preferably) then you soak yourself in alcohaul (put on music if you want i put on untill the day i die by story of the year so my boyfriend would hear) then set yourself on fire, then hwile on fire hang yourself. me personnally it all faild the rope broke…lol.. gues it wasant my time

Ive tried, that is the sad part…. i did, drowning, strangle,suffucation, cutting, and tried to just stop breathing all by its self, ... idk, my songs are always deep and dark, unless its about sumone ordinary n we have a song n then it would be that song
its usually something that hits you hard like.. unwritten laws-save me or im not okay-my chemical romance or scars-papa roach, idk somethign deep….and touchs you so when you do finally make it to death…u will think of the song on teh way to your place after life it self -

unless u have been there.. u will never kno the desperationg those people felt. IF they wanted to end it, they had a very good reason. Yea it may be considered giving up. But its an act of desperation ( and yes psychiatric wards are terrifying, beleive me ive been there)November 19, 2005

people don't always have a good reason i watched a program and it said "99% of people which surived falling off a bridge said about 2/3 of the way down they realised all there problems could have been solved and all there worries weren't important" wouldn't you hate it if you tried to kill yourself then suddlenly you realised that you didn't want to or need to that it had all been blown out of paportion.January 20, 2006

I'd Rather Just Do It
It's what happens. Sure, some people just do it on an instant. I on the other hand, have been thinking this situation out for YEARS. All the pro's and con's baby. Besides, there's other ways to kill yourself. You gotta look into this to make sure you don't live, and then wind up somewhere were you have people pity you all the time.
