Africa and the world's perceptions of it

What is it about Africa that makes America, Canada, Europe, and other nations and peoples just shiver, back off warily, or raise their eyebrows? Just what DO we know about Africa? In what depth?

  • Becoming familiar with Africa, her nations and peoples

Let's face it-- as a continent, Africa may have much more variety of geography and cultural and bilogical diversity than a few of our other continents and regions. What do Americans, Canadians, Australians, Europeans know about Kenya, Sudan, Rwanda, or Central Africna Republic? Let's devote the next nine months to networking for education and community development. Then let's further dialogue with the hopes of understanding who are the peolple there and who have immigrated into our respective countries, whether that be the U.K., the US, Canada, Brasil, Japane, or Australia.

I'll choose Sudan for starters and try to read everything I can on it starting today!
