This subject has always tormented me. I now feel the need to talk about it. Why is Death seen like an important thing that will change our lives? Tell me what you think?

in most cultures death is so important because its a way to be remembered after your gone… if people go to so much trouble to make sure you have safe passage to the afterlife you are sure to be remembered by someone.even atheists are buried are burned when they die so that someone somewhere will remember them and their memory will go on. i think the afterlife is something you make it as you live. you build a lot of energy up when you live and when you die it goes somewhere. what happens to it really depends on the person it came from. death is really more about immortality and the fear that all you did in life wont matter if someone doesnt remember… and the afterlife is sort of an easement to something everyone fears we will all die… wouldnt you like to know there is something better than this rathole waiting for you ?

I think that death is death. Theres no other explaining it. It doesnt change our lives as we know them, it ENDS it. Whether or not theres anything after is known only to the dead.

We all know how Christians view death. Also, non-believers see death has saying goodbye to their loved ones, so whether you consider death a new beginning or an ending, it is dramatic change in our lives.

I think you simply go where you would be happiest for eternity. I think your soul flies off to somewhere and you spirit becomes a part of the wind, until it is passed on to the next body. Not your soul, but your spirit. You will not get a new body as the person you are, but as the being you are. That’s why sometimes you meet a person, a young one, a child, that reminds you so much of a person who died maybe 5 or 10 years ago..
At least this is what I hope.

death is such a big deal because it is the unknown, we fear the unknown which is why people created religon to have something nice to believe in after death. personally i think after death you have a choice depending on your religon. if you are a christian you will go to heaven or hell (which you create) if you are atheist you will either go into oblivion or you will have to linger on earth. if you believe in reincaration you will be reincarnated and for the first few months of your life remember everything you learned in your past life but lose that knowledge once you can talk. death and the afterwards of it all depends on the person.

Death is inevitable. That is not to say that there is nothing after life it is just saying that ‘death’ itself is inevitable.
There is nothing we can do to prevent ‘death’.
But what comes after: (Just a few thoughts)
1. Nothing 2. Reborn – our memories are wipped and we start over as a new person. 3. We go to heaven or hell. 4. There is another kind of life, another world/planet.
They are just some ideas. Anything is posible though.

Believe that there is a God awareness. We all share in that. There is also the BRAIN and it directs body and things needed on this plane, such as language and mathematics maybe logical thought. At death, my guess is the brain rots and so the body now not held together by a life source rots, decays and becomes Earth again. Can I prove any of this? I have often wondered how one would PROVE a consciousness after physical death. I do-not think you could do this even in principle. John Edwards withstanding of course..(grin)

........has reared it’s ugly head again. What I suspect happens after death is slow decomposition of the remaining flesh and organs, or rapid conversion to ash through the use of a crematorium.
As to why it is seem as an improtant event in the course of ones life, are you kidding?

death is the biggest unknown, because there is probably no coming back. the biggest change that will ever happen. i dont believe there will be a paradise, but probably just darkness, and your own memories.

I say darkness comes after death we simply make up a bright place to run to so were scared or as scared to die.Death is an important change in life it could brake apart a family or it could make a family poor/rich or it could just mean a tremendous loss to the family and or community...i would know the loss of a loved one so dont question me on this subject and plus i also write dark poetry so i really ask of you not to question me on this subject for I know what im talkin' about yes me a 13 year little girl probably through your eyes..but when im just me..thinking by myself im probably more grown than you would ever be..im sorry if im offending any but i tdo think you need to hear this but enough about that im getting off topic...well thats what i think/know have a good day/evening/night/etc.

What's wrong with dying followed by NOTHING happening afterward. People make up stories about the "after life" because they cannot handle the truth of non-existence. I wake up in the morning without knowing what happened in the previous eight hours. Imagined if you woke up without a brain. What are you going to remember? As far as I can tell the brain rots on Earth. If you go to Heaven after death, you won't even know you are there.
