Afghan man of faith

In Afghanistan, Abdul Rahman is on trial for his life. His crime- accepting Jesus as his lord and savior. Rahman is not afriad, for he knows his Lord promised him everlasting life. Like Christ, Rahman faces persecution from a closed-minded group of people who claim to uphold the law. Like Jesus, he is prepared to die for his love of God. He knew the risks when he converted. He knew, living in an Islamic country, there were those would would want to kill him for his beliefs, but he chose to follow the lord anyway.

So, I say to those in the western world, what is your excuse for not accepting Jesus into your heart?

  • there is no excuse

if a man of true faith can show his love for God under the worst of circumstances, knowing that it may cost him his life, What excuse can anyone give for not accepting Christ? What will you tell God when you see him face to face? You will, someday. How will you excuse yourself then?

  • not excepting jesus.

why because i do not believe that he is my saviour of course. all he has done in my eyes is create a religion that has subjected people to a lot of pain. of course i am not denying his exsistance, or God's for that matter, but i do not have a need to look to the heavens at the moment for i am more concerned with what is happening around me and trying to solve that instead of praying to someone who doesnt answer. a more-noble-waste of my time.

not everyone excepts jesus as their saviour so get over it. one person on trial for something they believe is not going to suddenly convert every westerner on the planet.

NeferMaatNetjer, besides having one of the longest names on allphilosophy...LOL, this post you made is one of the best I've seen on this board in a long time my friend. I liked the way you laid it out and presented it. Nice job and yes, I fully agree with you.

  • Admiration needed
Wow even a non Christian should admire the faith this guy must have. What it would be to look fear in the face and have faith it cannot ultimately hurt you.

  • The Jesus Part and the Christ Part
Remember, the son of God was half man/half god. Jesus was the man, Christ was the god.

Abdul Rhaman is on trial not for his life, rather for Jesus' life. But, Jesus has already died. Therefore, the part of Jesus Christ that he could possibly be dying for is the Christ part.

Understand what is Christ. Christ is the god within Jesus. Jesus died. Christ lives on. Where? In each individual.

Christ is realized when you HELP to SAVE another. That is the definition of Christ. Mr. Rahman is neither saving himself nor his countrymen who are muslims. He was rightly punished not because of his faith but on his insistence on forcing it on others, especially when he is outnumbered.

You are Christ (a mini-version of it, anyway) anytime you help to save another person. That is not done by handing a drowning person a Bible-- to save a drowning man, throw a floating device.

Mr. Rahman's adherence to doctrine has caused dissension (away from Unity) and has periled his own life (he's killing Abdul and therefore killing Abdul Christ). His intention is based on a poor interpretation of The Holy Bible.
