so why is is that we deny the use of the word homosexuality when defining love between 2 people of the same gender and are pushed to use the word homophilia when it doesnt even exsist in todays dictionary? doesnt that seem weird to you people?

I liked a guy when I was ten for the first time. I'm not a lesbian. Is that considered homophobic? I'm straight and I started to have attractions for the oppisite sex before puberty.

  Curiosity about the opposite sex, will eventually lead to attraction or desire for more. This does happen early on in childhood. the curious nature is healthy and it's onset at toddler age is brought on by parental influence. Mostly unconsciencously applied by the parents. Parental bonding, touch, hugs, nurturing,etc; these things build a positive curiousity in all children to imitate and experiment. This also leads to a need for guidance. Guess that is why we have parents: to teach us what is natural and show us how to handle it wisely.

  Note: promiscuous heterosexual behavior is no better and I speak against that also. It is just that this posting heading was concerning homosexuals.
  
  I promote balance in life and state that addictions have a negative effect on our lives no matter the source. It is just that sexual addiction is the cause for 19 Million new people getting STDs annually and many die or get deathly sick from AIDS. The fact is that gays are more likely to have excessive amounts of sexual partners, more likely to engage in unprotected sex, and as a small percentage of the population have a higher percentage of STDs and AIDS. Denying these facts does not change reality. It only hurts the homosexual community by creating a false reality for them and they continue to get caught in the sickness and disease trap. You can see that the homosexual censorship that is rampant in society is literally killing those who partake in the censorship – and getting them sick.
  
  We all hear about the politicians and celebrities that are caught having gay sex in public restrooms and in alleys with strangers. Their popularity puts them in the news, but there are tens of thousands that have excessive amounts of sexual partners that we do not hear about until studies are done. Then they admit their detrimental lifestyles.
  
  Look at the world outside of the snapshot of your own life and you can see that the stats hold true. Remember this takes into account a lifetime not a day or week for the typical homosexual. The typical dozens of sex partners each year for many homosexuals adds up to a tremendous number over a lifetime.
  
  Important note: Thousands begin normal heterosexual relationships later on in life and totally give up any homosexual desires. Typically this comes with a change in environment and a removing of the previous influences.
  
  I give you this message in love and respect. Please take it as so. I ask that out of a similar love for your friends that you pass these truths on to them so they can be informed.

  One thing I do want to critique you on pete, is that your comment seemed rather bias. While you show the strength of the 'trained psychologist's' claims, you also missed the point that up until 1973 these trained psychologists (or the majority that made up the body of psychological research) were utterly convinced that homosexuality was a mental illness. It is not only their 'mortality' I wish to highlight but the fact that you stand by them when they make the seemingly 'right' choice as you see it, but unfortunately the psychologists of 1973 wouldn't be void of the same scrutiny and held with such integrity simply because you disagree - and the poster is simply on the other end, so both of you are as hypocritical as each other and none of your attacks in this area hold any credence.

  I understand that the psychologists of such time were educated, yet medicine and science are both progressive. Newton was a genius, yet some of his work on physics is wrong, modern science has further refined his work and no doubt the will be further refined in the future.
  
  If a liberal source made claim that 'conservativism has a tendency to deny the truth and reality', then there is no possibility I would use that source in a debate, due to it's obvious bias and lack of professionalism.

  Psychologists of these days are having trouble classifying the sexualities - as we have discussed endlessly, things such as pedophilia and even bestiality are being challenged as actual sexual orientations not distinct from heterosexuality and homosexuality, other than the supposed moral implications, and so this is the current working definition. They are using SOCIAL MORALITY TO DEFINE PROPONENTS OF BIOLOGY. Of course it changed, because social morality changed, and its a load of bollocks as Good Blog has shown, that various things can be justified and morality contorted.
  
  If we could prove that homosexuality was crippling society (I'm not suggesting it is, God forbid if I did that), then maybe morality might be tested? Everything is right if it seems right, yet at our age, or anyone's for that matter, who knows the true implications of our actions until it is done.   Paedophilia is a very turbulent and difficult topic to grasp. As paedophilia is so often a legal distinction rather than a moral one. In the US for example, many would consider pursuing sex with a 16 year old paedophilia, while in the UK most would consider this at worst distasteful.
  
  I would not be massively surprised if there are some naturally made up to desire wrongfully young children in a sexual manner. Yet as I advocate informed consent, it can be argued that a child of under (societal consensus age) has not the experience and maturity to be properly informed on such actions and such freedom must be supressed until they reach such an age.

  That is blatantly wrong. While this is right in many cases of child abuse and other paedophilic instances, there are genuine love affairs between people of a young age and people of an older age that are dismissed due to the belief that the child or young person is not old enough to make the decision for themselves etc etc, but this has nothing to do with what you stated above. There is no lack of mutuality in these instances, supposed morality simply denies it. I'm not agreeing nor disagreeing with the morality behind it, but what you said is still false. There are children and young persons who are so enamoured and in love with older individuals that the breaking of these relationships, whether right or wrong, still isn't an easy 'the evil person is gone now'. They'll probably want to kill you for saying that.

    maybe then we havent defined this debate well enough yet. if you are talking about kids who are not being hurt by an adult because they have the alusion of a loving relationship, then we are not talking so much about kids but about the age of consent.
    pedophiles are people who seduce kids but usually still have relationships with people their own age as well. pedophiles more or less do not care about the child beyond getting what they want from the child.
    are we not speaking of 2 different types of relationships?

  Yes that is the prevailing stigma whenever the word 'pedophile' is mentioned. Yet your sexuality in an of itself, I believe, doesn't make you a bad person. It could lead you to become one, and that is the danger, but it doesn't mean you are one. You're actions primarily dictate that.

That is like me assuming all homosexuals are supremely promiscuous, have AIDS, take drugs and only have sex never love anyone. And on top of that, they will all have intercourse with little boys at some stage in their life.

We all know homosexuals and unfortunately the vast majority was either sexually, physically or mentally abused as children or came from a very unbalanced single parent household. Others that realized their "orientation" later in life were not provided proper foundational value settings in their youth and are introduced into it through friends and pornography and their weakness of character makes them susceptible to "try it." Many abuse children, thus passing this problem along to them as their lives are also damaged. It has been handed down the generations this way.

Others turn to crime, drugs, alcohol etc., to deal with these issues, or indulge in combinations of these behaviors. The entire gay community suffers from depression and other mental health issues, substance abuse, STDs, suicide and many other detrimental factors in their lives.

Tech is right. you've opened up a can of worms with your ideology.

for starters i wish to point out that i was raised in a home with a father and a mother, i was never abused in any way. Nor have i seen gay porn, or introduced to it via a friend. I also do not believe in your god, so there is no point in going to some church to find a cure for something i do not deem as damning.

second of all, I have no mental dissorders that you have listed, nor have i had a sex partner let a lone a boyfriend (which almost immediately disqualifies me of the 1000 sexual partners b/c i feel that sex should be something done b/w two lovers, not two+ strangers). as it stands, if i were to have a sexual incounter with a different person every saturday and have 1000+ sexual buddies, i would be 40 some years old before i even reach a number that high (it would take just under 20 years to have that many sexual partners).

oh and i might want to add that, i have no criminal record AND since i have never had sex with another man/woman/(and in the case of this debate)animal, i hardly have any chance of being infected with an STD. Side topic, the group of people whose HIV infection rate is the highest at this point in time is heterosexual women (GASP). Personally, i'm feeling a lot more safe as a gay male than i would be as a straight one :-D.

The thing about the definition of homosexuality is interesting. It was listed in the DSM as a disorder for a long time but, then, a lot of gay psychiatrists decided to do something about it and won - but then, psychiatrists shouldn't be defining mental health it should be the church, obviously.

You know there was a time when I would have written you a reply. It would have taken me all night to do it. Complete with four part harmony, a rhythm section and choirs of Angles for back ground voices. But you know what jerks don't inspire me anymore. Maybe after 44 years i'm growing up. I've come to realize that your acceptance is not a requirement for my salvation.

BTW, your release has already cost me 17 years in a bad marriage, a divorce and half a house not to mention a real addiction.

Look, as many kids are, I was propositioned many times as a kid, but I had the moral teaching and strength of character to say no. I was many times one yes away from the wrong decision and lifestyle. These perverts tried all sorts of tricky methods to include offering large sums of money, drugs, alcohol, etc., but I was smarter then them and repulsed by their lifestyles of deceit and their hurting kids.

  For one thing, those sites are not credible. dot coms are often a hint-- dot org, dot edu, or dot gov are some of the only reliable resources. anyone can set up a dot com, whether or not it is backed by "facts" cannot be trusted.
  
  If you look at the bottom of the Cornell page, it says "All article content is the opinion of its writer." Opinions aren't always factually based.

  And even NARTH, like the site before it, has strong religious ideology backing it. There is an obvious bias that comes with ideas dealing with any form of sexuality in the Bible.
  
  1. Get new data. Old studies can be wrong and biased. Back in the 80's, 70's, and 60's, men would not have admitted to being attracted to the same sex, nor women.
  
  2. Your views are clouded with religious speculation. Even if homosexuality were proven natural and healthful, would deny it because the Bible won't back the idea.

Gay haters would not tell you these truths and give you these warnings, they would simply let this community kill itself. You see that when Christians simply state the facts that those in denial eventually will fall into the trap put out by society. Gay rights activists lie to their constituents to falsely keep them happy and gay haters are happy to see them fall.

Christianity is where the truth is and a also a community that will help you deal with getting out of this devastating lifestyle. Go to the mountaintops and shout these truths so many can be saved not only eternally, but from sickness and painful death while here on earth.

Nobody doubts the existence of AIDS or it's impact on gay people. I'll even concede the fact
that gay people do suffer from addiction. these are hardly a gay exclusive phenomena. please give stats on these points:

"We all know homosexuals and unfortunately the vast majority was either sexually, physically or mentally abused as children or came from a very unbalanced single parent household"

"Others that realized their "orientation" later in life were not provided proper foundational value settings in their youth and are introduced into it through friends and pornography"

"Many abuse children"

"Most have hundreds of sex partners"

"It is unnatural like bestiality, pedophilia, and the hundreds of other sexual disorders."

"have sexual relations with food, stuffed animals, plastic dolls, derive sexual excitement from eating feces (poop) and drinking urine (pee)"

"The entire gay community suffers from depression and other mental health issues, substance abuse, STDs, suicide and many other detrimental factors in their lives"

Please no reports compiled by people with an agenda or folks who want to sell me snake oil.

MSM are people out there who just want sex. but MSM is not gay men sigularily. it includes all orientations. does it suprise you that men who are having sex for the sake of sex are getting infected with HIV?
seriously, read the articles properly (meaning all the words). in the first one, it says homosexuals are in the largest risk group for those activities because of acceptance issues.

maybe taking a few classes of psychology would help you understand why gay and lesbians are at high risk for all these things. actually i could tell you why. it is because there are people out there that are saying they are morally weak, discusting, perverted, the source of hiv, damned to hell, ect ect. if i were to start saying something along the lines of "that is so christian" instead of "that is so stupid" (or as it is known now "that is so gay").

Note: promiscuous heterosexual behavior is no better and I speak against that also. It is just that this posting heading was concerning homosexuals.

I promote balance in life and state that addictions have a negative effect on our lives no matter the source. It is just that sexual addiction is the cause for 19 Million new people getting STDs annually and many die or get deathly sick from AIDS. The fact is that gays are more likely to have excessive amounts of sexual partners, more likely to engage in unprotected sex, and as a small percentage of the population have a higher percentage of STDs and AIDS. Denying these facts does not change reality. It only hurts the homosexual community by creating a false reality for them and they continue to get caught in the sickness and disease trap. You can see that the homosexual censorship that is rampant in society is literally killing those who partake in the censorship – and getting them sick.

We all hear about the politicians and celebrities that are caught having gay sex in public restrooms and in alleys with strangers. Their popularity puts them in the news, but there are tens of thousands that have excessive amounts of sexual partners that we do not hear about until studies are done. Then they admit their detrimental lifestyles.

Look at the world outside of the snapshot of your own life and you can see that the stats hold true. Remember this takes into account a lifetime not a day or week for the typical homosexual. The typical dozens of sex partners each year for many homosexuals adds up to a tremendous number over a lifetime.

Important note: Thousands begin normal heterosexual relationships later on in life and totally give up any homosexual desires. Typically this comes with a change in environment and a removing of the previous influences.

I give you this message in love and respect. Please take it as so. I ask that out of a similar love for your friends that you pass these truths on to them so they can be informed.

you will notice with all of these sites that they are religious based. religion requires a certain kind of faith that not every person in this world possesses in the same quantities as others, not even to mention all the different religions out there.
if you wish to prove that homosexuality is wrong, you have to do it in science. you have to prove it wrong in medicine. thing is, you can't.
