One of my biggest fears in life is that, somehow, I am missing out. I have heard that there is a homosexual lifestyle from gays and straights left and right. I just wish someone would define it for me.

"Lifestyle" is a buzz-wordThere are as many different gay lifestyles as there are straight ones. Some homosexuals are crossdressers, some are in-your-face political, some are artsy types, some are macho bears, some are flaming pansies, and some you would never guess were actually gay until they told you. I think the term " Gay lifestyle" was invented by either the in-your-face politcal types,or the more flamboyant homosexuals who like to flaunt it. a good number of gay folks just want to be left alone, and dont see their bedroom "lifestyle' as anybody's business but their own.16% Voted for by NeferMaatNetjer, looking4realtruth.
I have to tell you about a guy I met once. he was actually bragging about his gay encounters to a bunch of people who could not have cared less (which included myself), then getting all defensive and saying "You can't judge me! it's my business!", until finally this woman told him "look, it really is YOUR business, so keep your business in your bedroom, because WE DON'T WANT TO KNOW!" I had to laugh at that. I swear some gay guys are only in it for the attention. I mean, straight guys don't get all in your face about being straight, and then play the victim when you tell them that you don't want to hear it, and you never see us petitioning for a special day to flaunt our pride, either (although I have suggested it, just to be sarcastic). You will never see a straight man marching in a parade, wearing assless chaps, and a leather Gestapo hat, in front of children, no less. I don't care wht your orientation is, that's just wrong. -

This lifestyle people seem to talk about is an enigma to me too. i am not understanding what it consists of. Multiple sexual partners, inablity to hold a relationship, ect ect. seriously, i would like a comparision by someone on each side of this thing. how does the "homosexual" lifestyle differ from the "heterosexual" lifestyle. lets get one list of simularities from one person from each side, and then a list of differences from each side, lets actually see what this lifestyle is.

Just like the straight lifestyle, but with the added politics and drama. Same difference, really.

the stereotypical lifestyle consists of premiscuous sex and drug abuse. However, the stereotype of the "homosexual lifestyle" is far from reality for the majority of homosexuals. Remember, homosexuals are still people. And it comes naturally to them that they are attracted to who they are attracted to. If they felt it was wrong, they wouldn't act on it, but even so no person can control what does and does not attract them.
Also, homosexuals on average try Not to flaunt the fact that they like people of the same sex, because they know that it's a controversial issue and no one really enjoys getting shit for things out of their control. All of the gay people I know are down to earth, fun people. Some are on the flambouyant side, some you would never know were homosexual. Some are bitchy, and some are sweethearts. Homosexuals are the same as Heterosexuals. There are straight people who fuck anything with legs and drug themselves up on a regular basis, and there are homosexuals the same. Again, though, not the majority for either group.
Just try to see it as, People are people.
the homosexual lifestyle doesn't exist, it's a myth. there are only individual lifestyles, and i assure you they have nothing to do with orientation.

I have a few gay friends who "embrace the lifestyle", and a few who don't. Mostly it is flaunting who you are. It's the gay equivilant of what straight men call "players", or what BDSM people call "the domly-doms" and "the subly-subs". I don't think it's so much a compitition of who can sleep with the most people, as it is which "flaming gay" can burn the brightest.
Think of it this way, if you have spent your whole life being told that liking penut butter is evil, and it's a crime against God, you would think it was wrong to like penut butter right? Well one day you want to try penut butter, and you do. You realize that you LOVE penut butter. Youknow that your friends/family won't respect you for likeing penut butter, so you go to resturants where pb is served, so you can be around other people who like pb.
Now re-read that paragraph, but replace penut butter with men/women depending on your gender. It's all about belonging to a group, because human beings are, by nature, very social creatures.

Pure HeteroHomosexuals can march , protest etc but it won't change the fact that they engage in a wicked immoral and subversive lifestyle, -it's SIN now the same as it's always been. They will stand before God someday to give an account. Thankfully many have found Christ and changed.Voted for by trevor1.

It is different,I dont know how to exsplain it exactly, other than to say that there seems to be a distinct asbsence of a certain kind of communication among the gays , that almost ostracises even there own ranks, I lived aroud them in San Francisco for a while , and it is definent and clear cut even though rather illusive to discribeVoted for by Dwn.

you've changed nefer! thanx
as you said, not all gays are the same.now on to the straights to flaunt being straight comment:
men catcall women, men talk about the woman the "banged" the other night, stand in the middle of hallways like posts french kissing and feeling up their girl for who knows what reason they really cant get a room.
straight men flaunt their sexuality but you dont notice it because it IS so socially acceptable.

Sometimes I do tell straight guys I don't want to hear about their lewd encounters, usually because I think their full of crap, but also because unless there's something really unique about it--why would I care? Same goes for gay people. I really couldn't care less unless you were my friend and I was wondering how things were going with someone new you were seeing.
Should they keep it in the bedroom and out of public view? Yes. Every bit as much as straight people do.

2.crossdressers or more accurately transvestites are not nesseseraly gay. 3.now as far as a singular gay life style. i have herd the term used by both gay and straight in both positive and negative context. although mostly i have herd it used negatively to describe the club scene. like straight people don't have singles clubs where the same thing goes on. but that may be my own bieses talking.
