What if we take a moral idea and assume it's moral not immoral; where did the idea that the idea is moral come from?
there could be a socity where curse words were acceptable, but how do we know since it's unacceptable in our society the way it would be if it was acceptable. We don't know so we assume it's wrong.
Is there a truth that will endure time? Lets use sex before marrage as an example (because it has some of the most defined negative atributes)our socity says it's basically wrong because 1. "it's a betrayal of a persons mind and soul" 2. it can spread disease 3. Emotional preconsieved ideas that sex outside of marrage is wrong.
What if culture or circumstance is the only thing making immoral immoral? What if society looked like this : 1. all diseases were done way with (not that that could happen) 2. marrage wasn't socially nessicary 3. people are taught from birth that it's ok to have sex with whom ever you want 4. pregnacy was not the main way the human race repreduced anymore, and no one was able to become pregnate, would having sex before marrage still be wrong? Would marrage even exist?
and if it's not wrong then, why is it wrong now? Should this oppinion of morality be accepted, only because of harmful reprocussions? or should it be resisted?

I really don't know42% Voted for by shiny blue wallet, Kevin, Energizer Bunny.
I know that living in this society it's ok to believe that certain things are wrong just to fit in, but I don't know how I would feel if it changed

The fact that it's wrong makes it ImmoralVoted for by Gemini Dream.
Morals are concepts abut what is right and wrong, that are conceaved based on our own experiances and what other people around us beleave.
See, this is how it works, when something is immoral. it's wrong. You wouldn't have something that is moral,. but unacceptable.
So. if all the social and what not was done away with, and sex was just sex, then no, it would no longer be 'immoral'
Take killing people for instence, if there was no negitive connotations that were to come of killing someone, then it wouldn't be immoral, because it wouldn't be a problem anymore.

It's wrong because we believe it is for whatever reasonVoted for by Theatre Mormon.
It's wrong because we are told it is wrong or because we feel it is wrong. It is a gut instinct. For some, their particluar religion may tell them that that is wrong. For others, they may just not think that's right.
Christians teach that the gift of knowledge of good and evil is a gift from God, and helps us determine right from wrong.

This is only a test.........Voted for by Nosferatu.
Morals are environmetal constructs and so in your described world premarital sex would not be immorral.
Lets test that further though...
In the not too distant future, The study of the genetic structure will allow (for the sake of argument) us to illimenate all genetic disorders quickly and easily. In that world would the taboo surrounding incest be a relavent one????

In your fantasy world society, maybe we wouldn't need morals. But in this one, we do. Also, it is not an "emotionally preconceived idea" that sex before marriage is wrong. It is a biblical moral.
