After Death ExperienceIs It Possible?

I think you mean a "Near-Death" experience.

  • After Death Experience

We all have heard these stories before. People claiming to have an after death experience. They claim to have died and seen a bright light at the end of a tunnel. Some have even claimed to have risen up from their bodies and watched those around their body. Some have even returned to tell the others later what they saw them doing exactly and etc….

What is your particular take on this issue??

Do you know of anyone personally who has claimed this??

    Is this real or fake??

If it’s real then is it proof of life after death??

If it’s fake then how were they able to describe in detail afterwards what everyone around their body was doing??

If its fake are they being dishonest or do they truly believe in what they are saying??

  • The Unknown!

This is such a complicated issue. No one can truly prove that there is an after life or that there isn’t. It is something that we will probably never know.

These reporting of visions and so on from people, who have almost died, could be just dreams or imaginations. It’s just like how our dreams are amazing things because they can often feel very real. I’m not saying that the visions aren’t genuine; maybe they really are seeing an after life.

I don’t think we will ever know the answer….

  • We are Gods

Why do we move on to answer questions of "after death" when we dont know what goes on before death. What we would see after death is what our undying "spirit" would see, right? The "spirit" being our subconcious, and whatever mysteries lie within that. But we can never understand the powers and mysteries of the subconcious...why...if we could do that, then we would have the power of God among ourselves...

  • Why does it really matter?

Even if there is life after death, the only ones who can be sure they have seen it are the people who die again. All we have are stories of people who claim to see a white light and see their friends and/or loved ones at the end of a long tunnel. I think people are too caught up on their mortality. People, you are born in this life to experience it and to die. It is in our best interests to make the most of the time we have here because for most of us there is no coming back. So treat everyday like it could be your last. It could be. But if you really could come back, what would you do right the wrongs you did before you died? Think about that and make a choice to live rightly NOW, don’t wait until the Most High has decided to let you come back for a little while longer. Be that good person, hug that old lady you always wanted to. If you are a religious thinker, consider the fact that the agents of the Higher Powers are always near, always watching…now, what do you want them to see?

  • On Experience

Experience is what defines reality itself. It is more than possible for the experience of a person to carry on even after death. This is more clearly defined in the works by Alfred Whitehead and Hartshorne.

  • Experients Only

I’m not sure if their really is an after-life, but I have experienced almost dieing. When I was sick with a lung virus, I couldn’t breathe very good, and there was no room in the hospital. My mom is a private nurse, so she stayed with me through out the hard-to-breathe nights. Then one night, I remember, everything went pitch black as soon as I fell asleep. Then little flickes of light sputtered everythere, when a flash of bright light blinded me. My mom woke me up, and I started gasping for air. I had stopped breathing for almost 5 minutes. Believe me or not, I do believe that I was dying. If it wasn’t for my mom there, I wouldn’t be here today.

  • Until we are there

This is one of those areas in which we will never know the real answer until we are there ourselves. Since this is such a strange phenomena, we could only really vouch for its existence after we have seen it ourselves.

  • Astral Travel

Yes, this is possible. When you have an out-of-body experience such as that your physical body is left where it is (technically sleeping or dead) and your astral body travels in the astral plane without its physical counterpart. The astral plane is one plane that makes up another dimension (thought to be the fifth, the fourth would be time). There have been many experiments on this, but there is no scientific way to prove this because the physical body appears to be sleeping while the astral body is moving freely in another dimension. This is actually what happens when we dream, we just do not realize it. If you would like to look more into this, and even learn how to move into the astral plane and have full, concious control of your astral body, go to http://www.mysticweb.org/. They’ve got online courses on this, and one just happens to start on the 10th of this month.

Lol.. sorry if that sounded like an advertisement. I’m just really interested in this and there’s no possible way I can explain astral travel in full here.

  • Philosophically irrelevant

There cannot be any “after” death experience for, by definition, your death is what you can’t talk about when you are dead. As long as you can say something about your death, you’re not dead and haven’t ever been. This is the only relevant definition of death. That’s why people use to talk about near death experience rather than after death. As for today I never heard of someone pretending to have been dead (!) and talking of what it looks like. The difference between almost dead and dead is huge, some call it life.

  • I don't think so

I believe in Heaven but I think that once the body is dead it’s dead. So, the only people who have experienced true Heaven (and Hell) are dead. I think the ‘heavenly’ presence could be caused by the person dreaming in a strange environment with stress, bright lights etc. Nothing else.

  • The After Life

You go into the dream world, your spirit could be seen by young kids, and toddlers. My niece saw my cousin, I heard, and she said that, her uncles back is feeling better. He had liver problems.

  • How can I not believe?

I have had such an experience myself, after being shot several years ago. It was neither a religious nor a life-altering experience, but it was enough to convince me that there is more to the world than what we can see. Everything that I saw while my body was lying in that alleyway was accurate to the minute detail, down to names and descriptions of the paramedics who took me to the local hospital. And before anyone says that I was merely unconscious, the bullet hit the femoral artery in my left leg, and I bled out. I was clinically dead when the paramedics arrived. Although I had similar near-death brushes when I was younger (a seizure at one, a car wreck at seven, poisoning at twelve), this is the only one I clearly remember. I suppose I am either a very lucky or very unlucky person, depending on how you see it.

  • No

Actually is is scientifically explainable. Some people so a light or hear something when they are near death because of their brain. It is slowly stopping a in the process giving people images.

There is no life after death as someone mentioned earlier because your body is life. Your spirit however is a sentient being or you soul when you body is gone you have no emotions you have no way of controlling yourself in where you go or what you do. When they say your life flashes before your eyes it does because it is your brain showing you what all you have done whether it be good or bad this is if you do not believe in the bible and do not repent or anything. I can say that the Reaper exists I have seen him even though his face was distorted and I too walked down a dark hallway but I looked more closely at the texture these rainbow pillars were passing by and I could not see my body and on my left and right were to brilliantly white figures wearing dark goggles where I could not see into them and the whole time I was concious but all I could see is what I said and I could not move.

  • Everyone needs to read 90 minutes in heaven written by Don Piper
This man is dead for 90 minutes. He is run over by an 18 wheeler. He loses 4 inches of his femur. The hardest bone to break and it gets lost, shatters his arm, and crushes his kneecap. They put a tarp over his car because they say he was dead on impact. about 70 minutes after death a preacher comes up and asks to pray for the man. Police think he is crazy but God has told him to do it. Guess what, he prays for the man and he is singing then all of a sudden the man begins singing with him. This is 90 minutes after he was pronounced dead. In this book he tells about his encounter with heaven and everything in it. If you do not believe this then just look at the fact of him being dead 90 minutes and he has no brain or internal injuries. Now how can you deny that?

  • I have thought and thought

Why is their a dark tunnel first and with a light we are drawn to; Like a birth experience, maybe? I believe that I will be met by angel escort, like the bible says. -----This is either a subconcious reaction to the brain dying(birth memory)or a bad place to be going to. In my opinion. But I have heard these stories, of people who go on thru and meet relatives and see heaven or hell? That cannot be possible: No one goes to hell yet or my whole Bible would be topsy-turvey. You clearly must be judged before you go to hell. The Bible says; those who die the physical death, in Christ; go directly to Heaven. Those who Die and have not accepted Jesus; go to sheol, side of the pit, Bible says they go sleep, The Sleep, until the day of judgement. Only those who need judging are judged.----So, when I die; I will be met by angels and go directly to my reward.

  • Mind-boggling Stupidity

The only guy I know that came back to life after being dead for a fairly long time was Christ and oh Lazerus... but then Lazerus wasn't dead for all that long... and Christ? Well he scooted off to heaven real fast before anyone could ask him any questions.

If one looks back into the murky past, I'm sure there are others... but in recent history, save a few people who have been saved after being under water and ice for a relatively short time, ther are no cases of people relating their experiences in the after-life. This fact, in itself, would lead thinking people to believe that perhaps 60 billion people can't be wrong. "That when you're dead, your freaking dead." Period. There's NO afterlife, there's no heaven or hell... you just lay there in your coffin real still. You don't breathe, see, hear, feel, think... you don't do nuthing... and you do it for a real long time. Truth is, you cease to exist. How the hell can people reason that animals, some of which are real close in apperances to them (like monkeys) "just die" but they don't. Their souls go off to heaven. What stupidity! But, I don't blame then... they've been doing it for thousands of years, generation to generation, so why should they be any different from their forefathers? Let me just end by saying that... trust me... there ain't no after death anything but just plain laying there REAL still.
