What if Christians are Wrong?

What if Christian's beleifs are all wrong and some other religion is right? What Will happen to all the people who are Christians?

And on the same note; What if every other religion or "non-religion" (atheists, etc.) is wrong, and Christianity is right? What happens to everyone who is not a Christian?

I want people post to be based on their belief of what happens after we die....what will happen after death in the either of the two above cases? Honesty, humility, and straightforwardness will be highly appreciated in everyone's posts.

  • After we die.

In the first situation all the Christians will be punished according to the correct religion. In the second situation everyone who is not a Christian will go to hell. You're right though; what if? That's where faith comes in. And since faith really can't be debated based on fact, here we are.

  • After we die?

Based on personal belief... when we die- we die. Cease to exist. We become nothing, just like what we started from.

  • everybody's wrong

nobody has any idea what's going on, as long as you're comfortable at death, it's all that matters

  • That's why I'm Mormon

Considering I neither like the scientist approach or the conventional Christian approach, I'm rather glad I'm Mormon.

When we die, we are sent to either spirit paradise or prison, based on whether or not we accept the gospel. Everyone receives the chance to accept the gospel, as those who are in paradise teach those in prison. They have the choice to accept or not, and have the ability to repent of their sins here.

After everyone has had the chance to go through life, we will all be resurrected as immortal beings. This is because Jesus overcame the first death, which is the death of the body.

Somewhere along the line after that, Judgement will commence. We will be judged according to our acts during life. We will be placed in one of four categories, the Celestial, Terrestrial, or Telestial Kingdom, or Outer Darkness.

The Celestial Kingdom is for those who accept the gospel and are baptized and married in a temple.

The Terrestrial Kingdom is for those who lived an overall good life but did not choose to accept the gospel.

The Telestial Kingdom is for those who did not lead good lives, but aren't bad enough to be sent to Outer Darkness.

All three of these are degrees of glory. The lowest one, the Telestial Kingdom, is said to be paradise. Basically it is described as perfect. People would do everything they could just to go there, and it's the lowest of the three.

The fourth is Outer Darkness. People sent here are those like Cain, who deny God after receiving a sure knowledge. Very few people are capable of getting themselves sent here. Lucifer and his followers dwell here as well.

That's the Mormon version. It satisfies both the law of Mercy and the law of Justice.

I think that religion is like a huge space. You can't fit it in a box, or any shape, it's so huge. Organized religions take their faith and shape it so that there is a right way and a wrong way to do things- Like they've got the idea, but now they have to have a way to enforce it. And that's why we have so many religions, because there are so many ideas and so many rules. I think that God appears to certain groups of people in a way that they can accept him. I don't necessarily believe that my way to God is the only way to God. Maybe the Christians are right, and the Muslims, and the Hindus, and the Buddhists, and everyone, in their own way, is right.

  • ............................
i think that what happens after we die is up to the person themselves.i mean like one person could choose to live up in "heaven" with there loved ones that have also passed on.or someone could choose to be alone.i think after we pass we have a neverending dream.

Is the big question that is the basis of all angst in life (in my experience, anyway). What if. The big gamble, without any sound (one cannot gain metaphysical evidence that easily) backings to any which way or the other. The great sea of infinites. Maybe atheists go to heaven, maybe it is a big trick by God to see who won't believe in Him. Those who don't want to take the gamble, those who wish to refrain until further discovery and those who (supposedly) don't even care will sit on the sideline and wait it out. Others make a quick dash to the nearest stance. And yet others claim they have the known answer. Which to go for?

Who knows. I chose my path. I won't tell you what happens when we die, mentality can be misleading. But what I can tell you is that I am a christian, and I believe by faith. And as Kierkegaard said, should it be me that is the only man thrown in hell on the day of judgement, I shall sing the praises of God from the pit. I strongly doubt I could 'live' up to this, but the mentality and passion of belief is the ideation to hold to.
