What happens after we die?

What really happens after we die? Are we immediately judged by God whether we go to heaven or hell? Do we just sort of sleep on our death beds until judgement day? Reincarnation? Reincarnation in a sense that heaven or hell are just states of mind in our next life? For instance, we were sinful in this life then in the next we'll have a very hard time in life or we were very good in this life and in the next life we'll have a happy or good life because God rewarded us with a good life because of our good actions from our past life? Does the life we are living right now going to repeat itself again and again until judgement day or the end of the world? Is this why we sometimes get "de-ja-vu"? Perhaps de-ja-vu are memories from your past life/lives that you remember in the next - its like you think you did something or saw something that you dont know when - then after you forget all about it?

  • After death

We are feasted on by maggots who fail to distinguish whether we were kings or pawns, beautiful or ugly, intelligent or stupid.Death is the end, if there was ever a beginning. The rest is superstition. Let the feast begin ! camus

  • A different take...

Or maybe this is just wishful thinking. Having lost my husband, the love of my life, to complications of a bone marrow transplant only 32 days ago, I would like to believe we get to live our lives over. It took us a lifetime to find each other (he was only 48 and died the day before our first wedding anniversary), we always wished we had met 20 years earlier, had children of our own, had lived a longer life together. I'd like to believe we'll have the opportunity do that in the next life.

  • Born To Die...

Edgar, I am going to adress a few things you ave posted first. Those being, Reincarnation, Repition Of Life, De-ja-vu, Judgement Day and how God plays into these things. First, Reincarnation. Reincarnation is (in the belifes I have studied) The act of being reborn, either into a new form (I.E. Bug-->Human or Human-->Bug). Although some forms of belife involving Reincarnation believe you are reborn into a new 'Social Status' (I.E. You were dirt poor but lived a good life-->Born again a Prince and visa-versa). Now the belife of Reincarnation is held within the Boundries of Christain or Catholic Belifes, but not in the sense that you are Reborn on Earth. In these believes (as Im sure you already know, just restateing for those that don't) You are reborn either into Heaven (Golden Streets every dream you ever had will come true ect, ect, ect), or you will be cast to Hell (You are tortured, mauled, ripped to bits, ect, ect, ect) for all of eturnity. These are your places you will call home forever unless you believe in Purgatory, in which case you are a lost soul for eternity (What fun!). Now for the repitition of life. If you die and you are destend to relive the same time period over and over and over again. Then how would our history have come to be the past. By this I mean how is it that we have had steps of evolution sence the birth of 'Mankind'. Now given you theory may be possible, but at somepoint someones life would over lap anothers. Which may by all accounts tie into the feeling of 'De-ja-vu. Although I don't find repition of life practical or methodical, it very well may be that easy in which case I will have to spend a little more time on the thought. As far as 'De-ja-vu' gose I still have to stick with the small group of thoght circling that 'De-ja-vu' is nothing more than precognition by this I mean that you are exprienceing a height in you metal powers at that given point in time which transpires so fast and so strongly that you feel as though you are reliving the event. (It would be like knowing what you best frined is going to say and saying it for them. You can't read their mind, but the mental connection there is so strong that you 'feel' what they will say and say it for them or at the same time.). Now after all this being said, if you are a firm believer in God. Then your truths on Death are already very apperant to you. Yet if you are as I am and find one to many holes, one to many loops in what orginized religion feels then you stand where I do, lost and confused. Although over time I have gripped and pulled a few things from here and there and this is what I have come up with. Everyone seeks closure with the dead, and closure on what will happen to them when you do die. Death is the one thing no one will be able to lock into stone. It is for this that people fear, It is a natural state of any person to fear what they do not know. Now given that it would only seem right as to why everyone turn to religion for answers. They all claim to have the answers, as well as the reasurence that all you need to do are these things (I.E Fallow the Bible) and you will rest for eternity peacefully in a world where your every wish can come true. Dose this seem resonable? Not really no, but it dose offer comfort to those that need it. Which by all means is a good thing. Yet this dose leave controversy in alot of areas, because 'nothing can be proven, or set into stone'. I believe that what happens to you after you die is not exactly what every one says. I believe your heaven or hell is what you make it to be. By this I mean, if you die happily with a life you feel you completed and lived to the best you could. Then in the final hours you will live happily in a 'heaven' if you will. How ever if you pass with guilt or regret then your final hours will be a 'Hell'. Now I say final hours because I believe once you die, there is no eternal 'Heaven' or eternal 'Hell'. I believe that once you truely die (I.E. Brain Dead) "Thou shalt lie down with patriarchs of the infant world-with kings, The powerful of the earth-the wise, the good Fair forms, and hoarys seers of ages past, All in one mighty sepulcher." (Quote taken from Thanatopsis by Willam Cullen Bryant) If you have not read the above poem I suggest you do it is a very powerful piece. This quote is basically saying that once you die you return to the Earth. You 'lie with kings'. To me Heaven and Hell is jus the delirium you face befor you soul rejoins with the earth, a final gift if you will (Those that die peacefully and happily with a smile). Though it can be a curse (Those that die in a furious rage screaming and taughnting of demons and pain). When all is said and done no answers no matter how sound or how believeable will be able to answer your question till you expirence it. That is the cold hard truth of it all. You are born with no other intention then to die. That to is a sad truth. To those that embrace faith, my best to you, you have found your comfort. To those of you who can't seem to find answers don't give up on it just because 'it makes you head hurt' (Taken from Edgar) the answers you seek are out there. Weather they conform to a belife already in exsistance or not, dosen't matter. As long as when the time comes for your final breath you know in your head, your heart, your soul, what is going to happen to you and you have no regrets, you will be fine. As well as more than cappible of accepting death.

  • Book of Revelation

It's all in the book of Revelation, hon. From the beginning to the end. But I warn you, 99% of it is Metaphoric. I guarentee that the rapture will happen! And did you know that no one is in heaven right now. Didn't know that, huh? Not yet, everyone is resting until Jesus comes back (The Rapture) Gods not going to give you something that's used. He wants to give us something that is totally new, brand spanking new! So hope that filled the big void.

  • Sentenced Served Or Not

I feel the Earth is a prison colony for all manner of souls and entities. Somewhere, sometime we have all committed a heinous crime against the fabric of the cosmos and the grand design, The Creator felt that for us to attone for those trangressions, we are to live a menial and senseless life of mortality, and possess the innate fear of dying, All of our moments on Earth are spent trying to learn from our sins and mistakes. If for some reason we do not obtain forgiveness, we are destined to live as many lives as it takes, to be able to be granted, for lack of a better term, parole. Heaven and Hell are not a factor. I think we are all heavenly and cosmic beings. There is just too much out there to not be allowed to explore the universe. When your sentence has been deemed served, and forgiven, the Creator will allow us to return to the universe, and live to enjoy all that has been provided, to enjoy exponentially for an eternity. All with the hopes and endeavors to not be in prison again. To rehabilitate and not be institutionalized

  • Take It From The Top One More Time

Did you ever wonder what would have happened it you had made some different choices during this life? Well, since this existance we are now experienceing is greatly influenced by its beginning, your childhood, if there is any form of existance after death it will be in our current life's past. This is why there are instances of premonition in childhood that do not occur in adulthood. Remember that dream that came true just like you dreamed it? That's because in the end of your last life you went back to some point in your childhood you felt was pivitol in your life or mabey to the very beginning.Every choice you have made in your life has influenced its direction and when we go back to live it over again we will make different choices which are controlled by our subconcious mind where the records are kept. Other than that I don't think anything happens.I belive that if we do not return to the past in our life then death is like the missing time you experience during surgery. You simply don't exist at all.

  • Out of body experience
Almost... the first was, from, probably starvation, I didn't know what was wrong with me, so I didn't eat, I saw a very dim light, maybe because it was at night, I came back, very quickly, and then I woke up breathing very heavily, the next was, maybe, because, I was laying in an uncomfortable position, and maybe that saved my life, but I heard music, like people singing in a church, and this time I saw flashing lights. I woke up again breathing heavily, later on, I saw something on my chest, like a hand, maybe it was mine, because I usually put my hand on my chest when I'm sleeping, and maybe that saved my life. But the music haunted me, even thought it sounded like beautiful music. I believe there is a heaven, because of that music. But the music haunted me, because I thought I came that close to death. Also I felt a big nerve tingling. Possibly that it could of been an aneurysm

  • This is what i think
I think at death you just die you cease to exist which means you are not aware of anything(time etc)all your thoughts perish.Although i am not too religious i think that someone created everything including the earth and us humans,we are too complex to have just originated by chance.I do belive that we will be judge accordin to how we live this life and if we abide and try to be follow the commandments which were put in place and if we do abide it shows we are capable of living a life of eternity abiding by the laws of the creator(god). They will be a resurrection and we will all face judgement(not right after we die but when the judgement they has come)if we are in the book of life we will be back on earth and live a lief simular to this but without all the disease and pain for eternity(we wont be flotting around in the skys)I came to this conclusion beucase it is said even if a human lives to 90 years old he/she only uses 1% of their brain memory,it shows we were created to live for a much longer time over 100000 years.Tkae a look at your body everything has a purpose your heart your longs EVERY SINGLE part of your body has a purpose so i know the capacity of our brain shows we were not meant to die in 80 years or so.It all comes back to the bible in the end which is pend as god's word.So at death we dont exist but at judgement day all the dead will be resuerrected, and its believeable because if someone can create anything as complex as your brain once he surely can do it again. So live your life according to how you would want to spend eternity.

  • No one knows/ the after life
After we die? Who would really know? And be able to tell us? This debate in many ways is meaningless because no one on this earth knows. But really- do we really go out like a candles flame? Simply smoke like maggets eating a corpse for a moment than nothing at all? Or do we pass into some kind of limbo? Waiting in line to live again?

I do believe in God and so i belive in heaven and hell. I do not belive in the church or even human rewriten parts in the bible but i do belive in an after life. Where through hardship and forgiveness i can pass through purgatory and enter heaven. I pray so. What happens after that? Maybe someday i'll know. An eternity of peace? Become an angel to help on earth? Meet God face to face? I pray with all my heart.

    for i believe it so

  • Your Last Wish Becomes True
In your dying moment, if the head stays intact, the brain will emit a final blast of a chemical from the pineal gland which is a burst of a hallucigen that will make your depart from Earth the one you think will happen. Thus, if you believe in a light at the end of the tunnel you will see this along with a super high that is literally, out of this world. If you believe that maggots will eat you, you will experience those dastardly creatures biting and mawling on you as you scream in agony. It will last a few seconds, after which the curtain will go down, the lights will be hit and the show will be over-- for good, unless you left something behind that can be continued by others.
