Basically it's the whole, if a tree falls and no one is there to hear it, does it make a sound. I'm asking if there was no life, not even bacteria, left in the universe does the universe still exist. No one could observe it, or see it, or hear it, or touch it. Yet things would still be going on. Time would still allow for atomic structures to change, the stars would still burn out and become white dwarfs. Gravity would still have its pull, but without anyone there would there be any point. Wouldn't the whole show just cease to exist, simply because there is nothing left to comprehend it.

It would still be there50% Voted for by IridescentRose, Makessenseright, Weydon.
It doesn't matter if we are here or not, the universe goes on. It doesn't matter if it isn't observed it's still there. I don't see why it would cease because it wasn't observed, there really is not reason for it to care about us.

Not sure either wayVoted for by Darkimagination.
I guess theoretically this is absolute balderdash. Of course it would still be there, as it doesn't depend on there being life. And maybe one day there wasn't any life around to comprehend it, but perhaps then at that point it didn't exist. Of course there are religious connotations to this as well. Perhaps there are spirits etc etc. But imagine there was nothing there to comprehend it, not even on different dimensions. In that case I would say it no longer exists as the word 'exist' itself wouldn't mean anything.

That's like saying, will a tree make a sound if it falls in a forest with no one there to hear it?

My TakeVoted for by a woman to love.
Life goes on despite time ,despite us. When we die life just does not cease and desist, it keep on going just as if we had never existed at all. It is inevitable....
