What is the meaning of being a Christian? I don't mean going to church every once and a while, having communion, singing a few songs, giving offering. I mean what is the meaning of it all? Why are we on earth, why do we care, who are we?

So what is The Unspeakable? We're never to mention it, yet at some point in our life, we must. There will come a point in time where one must make The Unspeakable The Speakable.
Being a Christian is never about going to church, singing songs to Jesus, getting baptized, drinking bread and grape juice/wine, dressing up, sitting in cold pews, serving, nothing. Being a Christian is a relationship. A relationship with Jesus. Each of us have a different way of spending quality time with our Lord, whether it's praying or singing songs of praise, or just what, but when we speak to him, it's no longer words that pour out of our mouths and into air, but it's lifted up to Him.
And when we come to this point of having to make The Unspeakable The Speakable, we must chose the possibility of saving a lost sheep, or making ourselves lost. Which will you choose?
EDITED NOTE: For those unsure of what I am speaking, The Unspeakable is Christianity. You know the old saying that tells that one should never talk about politics and religion? It is Unspeakable, but in every Christian's walk, one must chose between being safe and keeping it Unspeakable, or to make it The Speakable, and evangelize to non-Christians.

It's not who we are but who HE isVoted for by Sunchild.
The word Christian literally means "little Christ", it was first used by the people of Corinth to describe the believers in their city. The term Christian is given to a person who has accepted Jesus Christ as their personal savior and in gratitude want to live for Him. The job of a Christian is to tell others about Christ so that they too might be saved from Hell, and to love everyone just like Jesus did. People should be able to tell that we are Christians by what we say and the way we act. As well as having the friuts of the spirit: love, joy, peace, patientce, kindness, gentleness, faithfullness, and self-control. The reason we go to church is to encourage other believers and learn more about the Bible. We do good deeds because we want to, not because we have to. We take communion because the Bible tells us to remember our Lord's death on the cross.

Good topicVoted for by praise-reborn.
I believe that being Christian means trying out best to be as he intended us to be (ie: as jesus), and realizing that Christ has paid for us to enter into heaven and wipe our sins away.
Chruch, hymns, holier-than-thou....none of that matters to God. He set up what we are to be as Christians and He's about seeing our heart, not out mouth service.

That's simple. To me a Christian is, anyone that follows the teachings
of Christ. They give it their best try, no affiliation with a church is necessary. That's it, plain, and simple.

The Unspeakable
The god that can be toldis not the eternal God.
The name that can be ascribed
is not the eternal God.
The unnamable is the eternally real.
Naming is the origin
of all false things.
Free from thought, you realize the Mystery.
Caught in thought, you see only the
manifestations.
Yet mystery and manifestations
arise from the same source.
This source is Darkness.
Darkness within darkness.
The Absolute Truth of all understanding.

Oh come on now
I can extinguish all of your vast darkness with a simple match stick.Light is the answer to all things. Light extinguished the dark, but dark cannot advance on the light, no matter how huge the dark may be.
