A new poll finds that a plurality of Americans think it is appropriate and timely for a movie to be made about September 11, though over half say they would probably not go to see it.
More than four in 10 Americans (42 percent) say they think movies about the 9/11 attacks are appropriate and timely, and another 17 percent say movies are appropriate, but it is too soon.
Overall, 38 percent of the public says they would go and see a movie about the 9/11 attacks and 58 percent would decline. Men are slightly more likely than women to say they would see the movie.
Finally, the poll asked Americans if the tapes from the cockpit voice recorder on United Flight 93 should be released to the public. The tapes have been played for the federal jury in the trial of Al Qaeda conspirator Zacarias Moussaoui, but not heard by the general public. A 55 percent majority says yes, the tapes should be made available to everyone and 37 percent disagree.

i nearly lost my aunty in the terriost attacks and it made me really appreiciate life, i know that if she had of died i wouldnt have wanted a film to be made about it. I think its disrespectful and at the end of the day if a film was made not everyone would be happy about it ...there would be things people would disagree on, and it would bring up things which shouldnt have been, some people may feel it would be a good thing because it is remembering what happened on that dreadful day..but i personally wouldnt want it to be nade.

There are other ways to honor and commemorate a tragic event besides making a movie about it. Maybe we should use a few of those, first, or at all.
