Baptized is necessary but not for salvation23% Voted for by Energizer Bunny, Makessenseright, crosscountry07.
Rose, Being baptized does not bring salvation, only Christ can do that. Since you are a Christian I'm sure you knew that though. Being a Christian then you know Christ is our example. Remember, Christ died on a cross publically for you. He was not ashamed of you. So we are to be baptized publically for Him. By being baptized we are physically saying to everyone that we are not ashamed of the gospel of Christ. Christ says in effect that if we are ashamed of Him in front of other men that He will be ashamed of us in front of God the Father. So do we have to be baptized to be saved??? The answer is no for salvation comes through Christ only. The thief on the cross had not been baptized when Christ told him today you will be with me in paradise for he did not have the opportunity since he was hanging on a cross at the time. I believe being baptized is necessary as a Chrisitian in your walk with Christ but not necessary for salvation. Remember Rose, Christ is the example. Just think of being baptized as an outward expression of an inward experience. Take care my friend.

Of coarse!!!Voted for by eresor.
All I have to say is Acts 2:38 read itand then tell me you don't have to be baptized. You see, people take the bible out of context, they hear what they want to hear. If you do your homework anyone will see the truth of the matter.

Not sure...Voted for by IridescentRose.
Honestly, I'm not sure at all. I have not been baptized, and I am fourteen. But I believe in God. Honestly, I am confused about this whole "baptism" thing. My family doesn't go to church, and none of my siblings have been baptized either, even though my parents have. So I really don't know...

Didn't you guys know? They stopped allowing people who were baptized into heaven. In fact, only Mormons are allowed. Quite silly, don't you think?

Even back when I believed most everything my Catholic upbringing was teaching me I would argue with the older priests about that one. It's just heartless.
The official view on it has changed a lot, which just points out how sily it is. For a while it was stated they went to this place called limbo. Now I believe the official Church doctrine is that they go to heaven. Even that people of other religions (or lack of religions) will get there as long as they lead good lives. Personally I find any other method of getting to heaven to be disgusting. Hardly someone's fault for being born and raised in a place that didn't Baptize and instill certain beliefs on this otherwise good person.

Depends on Religion, I thinkVoted for by prettyangeleyes.
I think that whether or not you go to heaven depends solely on your religion, not on whether you are baptized or not. Yes, Christ would like you to be baptized, but that does not mean that you are going to hell. As long as you are saved and have accepted Jesus into your heart, your fine. Look at some other religions, they don't believe in baptism, yet they still go to heaven. It's just like the argument of whether or not you go to church. Just because you go to church does not mean that you will get into heaven. You have to be saved by the grace of God, before you can even think about getting in. Also, you don't have to go to church to worship God. I mean if you are in your living room praying, you are worshiping. God , of course, would like you to go to church, yeah. I think that it depends solely on your religion ~*Heather

Hmmm...Voted for by Boudica.
I've never been baptized but I also don't believe in heaven or hell. Personally I'm glad wasn't, it was one more hour of my life I spent out of a church.

You don't have to be babtized in order to be accepted into heaven. Babtism(sp?) is an outward act of showing that you have recieved Christ into your life. By doing this you are proving that yes, you are a child of God. Some may not see that if your are not babtized, because accepting Christ is a spiritual and inward joy. Therefore, babtism is an act of your acceptance.

Lies.Voted for by Fall-sideways-out.
You dont have to be baptized to go to heaven, you have to eat an entire cow in one sitting, only the fattest are allowed into the Kingdom of Heaven, if they can fit.

You need to ask Jesus to save you, then you are savedWhat brings salvation is asking God to remove all that crap in your life. Once you do that, you are allowed to go to heaven. But baptizing is how you show the world that you are a christian.Voted for by Doom Pickels.
